ZachTheZip
Holy crap they suck. They are the reason the Zips lost. Don't try to pin it on anything else. They are directly responsible for a 19-point swing in the game. Gave up 2 TDs and cost the Zips 6 points.

MaxZIP
Fire. J.D.THe team played more inspired but the coaching was still suspect. Tuzze was moving the ball consistiiently and wearing down the D. Why take him out and in the red zone and force rodgers to be the man. rodgers fumbled. They worked on him on the sidelines quite a bit. He is definitely the Zips best running back, and showed a lot of guts playing through obvious pain. But he could not physically be in all the time. uafan
Kicking shouldn't be a problem! We all looked forward to Igor until he finally got to kick, and Stec is a 4 year starter as punter. And not to mention our special teams coach......Oh, wait. I've been bitching about them for about 3 years now! Welcome, all, to the bandwagon! GoZips
Fire. J.D.I totally agree. From what I learned tonight it should have been done right after the CMU game.Seems that most of the rumors about Cracker Jack-o are true. The idiot should never havebeen given a "second" chance two years ago. I lay the responsibility on JD. Bad, unwise, foolish, lame, self-interest decision on JD's part. JD needs to go. The sooner the better.

Still pissed off at JD and the special teams coaching.Absolutely unimaginably poor coaching by JD on special teams. Where the heck did that 3rd grade punt formation come from? Totally bush league when all we needed was a straight punt. His handling of the kicking game is absolutely atrocious. Yanking the place kickers in and out when they miss has got both of them suffering from a severe lack of confidence. We make 2 field goals and don't have that punt blocked and we win 13-12. I really want JD to succeed but he is his own worst bullheaded enemy.
fear the brown roo
Gee, i guess JD didn't use his goods vs. goods in special teams preactice this week. Maybe try goods vs. goods when it comes to coaching too.

Alot of teams are using it and the Rugby style punters who roll out and then hit that low line drive punt. I'm starting to wonder if the NCAA has done something to the ball that makes it a nightmare for kickers.

I'm starting to wonder if the NCAA has done something to the ball that makes it a nightmare for kickers. This was some schmucks idea to cover the fact that he had a bad punter or bad blocking on the line. Think of a roll out passer. It's supposed to give a little more time for the punter. Also, if they had a lousy punter that only got distance when the punt rolled (Stec), this is supposed to set him up for more yardage. So basically it is designed to cover up a bad punt team, which we have.
jaycevs
Why cant we kick a fn ball? That all these guys do? At least in regular punt formations teams cant return them because the ball does not go far enough, and there's always a chance of it hitting their blockers. Really, our special teams reminds me of high school football.

Really, our special teams reminds me of high school football.AMEN! I have been railing about this for 3 years. I have seen Stec have one good half in all that time. We never got a chance to see his backup, even though he was All-Ohio in high school. We had 2 punters on scholarship, but we'll never know what the other guy could have done! Another example of JD's lack of change.By the way, JD gave the job to Stec because JD thought Stec had better hands. Ironically, Hildreth brcame the holder and saved our butts last year at EMU. Zipsrifle
So what are the chances we could get one of the soccer players to kick the ball? We would probably be nailing 65 yd field goals all the time.

Do we have any 4-year starters that graduated last year, because then they could play a 5th year of eligibility on the football team as the kicker, so long as they aren't playing professionally. MDZip
In another year I might suggest what we did a few years ago when we did recruit a soccer player (I think his first name was Jon but I can't really remember now) to our kicker but with the way the soccer has gone I do not want to cahnge anything to make even the slighest perturbation in the program. Now if the football team was 4-1 and had just lost the frontline kicker to injusry, maybe. I know some may be thinking we could use a little used reserve but I want that team's total focus on their game. Go Futboler's!
