The NCAA site- forget where within the site- has a 24 page outline of procedures/standards for the NCAA men's soccer tourney. It includes everything from rating the field, how the rpi is done, and even how many cheerleaders, mascots, and band members can be present. More to the point, they list all the conferences and make mention that the MAC does not have an automatic bid. There fore, it is true that the MAC does not have an automatic bid this year- it did last year and may next year but not in 2009. Not to worry-we will get a bid.

I'm still waiting to hear who told you that the MAC has no automatic bid to the NCAA's in Futbol this season.
I heard that one from some AK-Rowdies. They seemed very certain of it, and I'm inclined to believe them. I can't find anything in print that I could link you to. Maybe a talk with the soccer players or coaches could confirm it.
Unfortunately, it looks like this is true.
