tbozeglav Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 So far my source hasnt been able to confirm this... and normally he knows about stuff like this and tells me. Im inclined to believe this is a hoax... like balloon boy Quote
firhillzip Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 The NCAA site- forget where within the site- has a 24 page outline of procedures/standards for the NCAA men's soccer tourney. It includes everything from rating the field, how the rpi is done, and even how many cheerleaders, mascots, and band members can be present. More to the point, they list all the conferences and make mention that the MAC does not have an automatic bid. There fore, it is true that the MAC does not have an automatic bid this year- it did last year and may next year but not in 2009. Not to worry-we will get a bid. Quote
Zip_ME87 Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 I'm still waiting to hear who told you that the MAC has no automatic bid to the NCAA's in Futbol this season.I heard that one from some AK-Rowdies. They seemed very certain of it, and I'm inclined to believe them. I can't find anything in print that I could link you to. Maybe a talk with the soccer players or coaches could confirm it.Unfortunately, it looks like this is true. See page 6 of 2009 DIVISION I MEN’S SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP HANDBOOKhttp://web1.ncaa.org/web_files/champ_handb...9_1_msoccer.pdfAutomatic Qualifiers[Reference: Bylaws 31.3.4 and 31.3.5 in the NCAA Division I Manual.]Conferences granted automatic qualification for the 2009 championship are:America East Conference, Ivy GroupAtlantic Coast Conference, Metro Atlantic Athletic ConferenceAtlantic Sun Conference, Missouri Valley ConferenceAtlantic 10 Conference, Mountain Pacific Sports FederationBig East Conference, Northeast ConferenceBig South Conference, Pacific-10 ConferenceBig Ten Conference, Patriot LeagueBig West Conference, Southern ConferenceColonial Athletic Association, The Summit LeagueConference USA, West Coast ConferenceHorizon League Quote

Dr Z Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 Rumor has it that Nicely has a broken ankle. We're doomed. Seems a little odd that Gaffney would write an article on PN16 today if he broke his ankle yesterday? Quote
RowdyZip Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 Pure rumor. If you're on facebook, search for him. Status updated yesterday says, "Great practice!" or something along those lines. God bless the internet! Quote
Dave in Green Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 Only thing broken is someone's credibility. Quote
vmd9 Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 Nicely is ok I saw him in class today and he was walking around no problem Quote
g-mann17 Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 Nicely is ok I saw him in class today and he was walking around no problemWell two things should come of this....1.) Zach should post an apology2.) He has to switch his name back to UAKid Quote
Captain Kangaroo Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 I saw Nicely sitting on the slope of the endzone grass this morning. The slope was not too steep, and his ankle looked fine. Quote
Zip Watcher Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 But was he watching Zips running back LeSean McCoy get some extra reps in? ;) And were they getting ready for the long awaited hoops game against tOSU at the Q? Quote
