ctmjbowes@sbcglobal.net Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 Man we REALLY need Nicely to pan out at this point! I've been dancing around the talent situation recently on the boards, but when the team hasn't beaten a D-1 opponent in a year, we as fans have to start questioning the talent level, or at least the coaching/talent-positioning of the staff. Since Ferri is so recently departed, and since several posters have been strong proponents that the talent on this team is good, I have been reticent to aggressively question the actual talent level of the Zips. However, as this season of nightmares drags on I'm having trouble understanding how the talent level could be ascending while the team is so obviously getting more terrible. Come on Nicely, no pressure, but my hopes for the talent of this roster kinda rest on your shoulders bud. I know you're a 19 year old kid but let's see what promise you hold. Do us proud. Quote

I love these kids and would love to see them with a real coaching staff, especially on offense. Quote

I have confidence in our players far more than i do in our coaching staff that seems to handicap these kids. Quote
Lee Adams Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 Nicely looked like the real deal today...even as a frosh he throws the ball where it should be thrown(mostly) not just at the receivers...arm is strong enough...doesn't move to well yet...he handled the pressure of this game pretty well...much better than anyone one we have seen the last 3 years... ctmjbowes@sbcglobal.net Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 I really like Nicely. Job number one for the next coaching staff will be to ensure that Nicely stays on board. Good skills, good size, good brain and I like the fire he showed tonight. He's going to be a keeper. Quote

I watched the game on 360 and was massively impressed with how much he has grown up in just a half season! Quote

Throw in Miami's Dysert and the MAC East has some very good, young talent at this position. Quote
GP1 Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 Can't's QB is more Keith Partridge than Spencer Keith. With the exception of a couple of mistakes that take place in football games, our QB is much better than theirs. Quote
Dr Z Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 The saving grace to this season is the experience PN16 is getting. His progress this season gives us hope for next year. Quote

Patrick is good now, and his ceiling is way up there in the stratosphere. But I don't think you're giving Spencer Keith enough credit. Or maybe I'm not giving Keith Partridge enough credit. Now DANNY Partidge might have been something. After I, I believe he kicked Donny Osmond's behind all over the ring some years back. Quote
GP1 Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 Patrick is good now, and his ceiling is way up there in the stratosphere.I agree. He is good now. He will get better, but that doesn't make him bad now. There isn't going to be a long "building" process with this kid. With the right coaching, he should win next year.He only needs some fine tuning and he is all set. The fine tuning is what is necessary for him to go from good to great.Watching the game on TV, you get a good view of how players look during the game. He didn't look scared at all. Quote
