GoZips
Good OOC schedule.A decent non-BCS I-A game at home is in order.
GP1
Right now the schedule looks like this:@ KentuckySyracuseTBA@IndianaThanks.I hope TBA turns into I-AA.Keep Syracuse.Drop either KY or IN (whichever pays less) and pick up another I-AA team. Actually, try to drop both and pick up a non-BCS D-1A team. We need to get out of playing 3 BCS level teams in a year. There is no reason to guarantee losing three games. The cycle of losing needs to stop and it needs to start with scheduling. Let's try to avoid three road games in a row next year as well. It's time to start winning. Let's put ourselves in a position to win and turn losers into winners.

We owe Indiana and Kentucky a road game, and it would be dumb to dump a home game with Syracuse after already having played two games in their dome.I do want a 1-AA team to fill in the open spot.I think that football needs to never schedule a Big Ten team again. I don't mind if we schedule a payday game, just make it somewhere interesting to travel to.
jaycevs
CUSA, SUN BELT, WAC, or MT WEST? Missing any? The tops of those conferences are all better than the MAC really, but below the top teams it would be competitive and maybe they would see it the same way, though it is a lot of travel to play most of those teams. ZachTheZip
In 2011, Akron is supposedly playing @OSU, FIU, @Cincinatti, and a TBA.The Cinci game is likely to repay them for coming to the Rubber Bowl in '08.FIU at home is a game I like simply because it's a very winnable home game against a FBS team. zipboy
I am not sure if the KY game is still on. That was originally part of the 2-1 but we bought out of that after overscheduling. Syracuse and a 1-AA at home seem to make sense. Is IN another 2-1 deal? We already played their twice, was it reupped? I have to think there is a money game potentially in the works? jaycevs
We had Tennessee at one point, but that's off. I also saw Michigan State listed online, if you look at Michigan States future schedules at Phil Steele's website (Sept 4th), but MSU doesn't list that anywhere else. GJGood
I don't want any FCS schools. I just think its wrong in principle. Teams with 85 schollys should only play other teams with 85 schollys. Plus, its a little harder to live down if you lose. There are plenty of FBS schools we should be able to beat or at least be fairly even with. I love the FIU game. I imagine that is part of a home and home series, does anybody know? Zipsrifle
I think we should try putting as many home games as possible early on in the season. First, the weather is good which means more fans. Second, we will still have a shot at going to a bowl for most of these games. Of course this is purely related to attendance and if we were to just win we wouldn't need to worry about this.

If BCS level schools schedule I-aa and MAC schools so they can maximize their home games, why shouldn't we? Why do we always have to be the team to help the BCS team maximize their home games at the expense of our program? We are killing ourselves. GJGood
Yeah, I heard the Syracuse and Gardner-Webb thing yesterday too. Plus I have heard a couple of my Cinci Bearcat friends say we are supposed to be in the queen city as well, so my best guess is that the @Cincy game is still going to happen.I'd like to see us add a low level BCS team or mid-level non-BCS team to round out the OOC schedule. I'd like to see us play someone like Iowa State, NC State, or even somebody like Air Force for example.
GoZips88
A couple of unofficial '2010 Syracuse football schedule' sites show the game in Akron being played 9/18.

We can 'play with' any team. Can we win, probably not, but that doesnt mean we wont try. I'd rather see a historic DIV-1 team here than a historic IAA team. B-O-R-I-N-G. Besides, dont the wins again lower conferneces not count?

Losing gets empty stadiums and our current scheduling guarantees three losing games a year. When the Zips get really good, the scheduling could take them from 7-5 to 9-3....fans get excited about 9-3.Also, I-AA teams guarantee not only wins,, but home games. The Big Phone Booth was built for watching football, not to sit empty while we play away games.
