tbozeglav Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 Zips score to make it 1-0 with about 18:00 to go in the first half. Zips are absolutely dominating the Cardinal right now. Theyve made at least 3 or 4 shots on goal so far. Every time Stanford gains posession, we're quick to take it away.GO ZIPS!Oh and the sellout crowd looks AMAZING! Quote
tbozeglav Posted November 29, 2009 Author Report Posted November 29, 2009 Ampi scores to make it 2-0 off a penalty kick! Quote
RowdyZip Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 I was hoping someone would put this up. Nothing like being stuck at the laundromat after my dryer decided to crap out. Ugh. Quote
Blue & Gold Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 What radio station is the game on? I thought it was going to be broadcast on 1350, but no such luck. Quote
tbozeglav Posted November 29, 2009 Author Report Posted November 29, 2009 Zips are looking VERY strong tonight. The winner of our game (hopefully the Zips) will be playing them.Also... Maryland, Drake, Virginia, and North Carolina advanced as well. Quote

tbozeglav Posted November 29, 2009 Author Report Posted November 29, 2009 Maves starting to be real busy making saves this second half. Stanford is really putting the pressure on us. SOG and CKs are still in our favor but Stanford seems to be playing our game against us. Thankfully Maves wasnt getting tired and has been making quite a few saves. Zips still up 2-0 Quote
Sergeant Zip Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 84:44 mark, still 2 -0 Zips. Quote
you am i Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 Great win. One game at a time. Quote
Kangaroo Craig Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 Stanford played a spirited and aggressive second half, but never really threatened in this one. Spies nearly made it 3-0 with a shot off the crossbar late in the game. Good win for the Zips. Now they take on a Tulsa team next Saturday that they defeated earlier in the season. Three more victories to go! Quote
ZachTheZip Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 Coach Porter on the first half of the game:I'm not so sure I have seen a college soccer team do what we did to a team like we did in the first half in any season I have been a part of. This team has a whole other gear they go into at certain times. I know there is even another level they will get in the next round and in future rounds. There's a level even higher than that? Quote
RootforRoo44 Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Some real nice pics from Lynn Ischay of the PD in this article. Quote
Captain Kangaroo Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 A final note on the Stanford match --The post-goal #1 celebration act was AWESOME.For those who didn't see it...After Bunbury scored, the entire team ran to a corner. Bunbury faced the corner flag, about 30 feet away, and the remainder of the team lined up between Teal and the flag as if they were a golf gallery.Bunbury acted as if he hit a putt. The Zips gallery followed the imaginary ball to the "hole," where Ampi was tending the "pin." When the imaginary ball dropped in the cup, Bunbury executed a perfect Tiger Woods (Stanford alum) fist-pump.The whole act was perfectly executed. Better than any Cavs pre-game ritual! Quote
