RootforRoo44 Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 That's because you don't have to wear them. You'll also notice how some of them are wearing previous year's zoo shirts too. There are plenty more without Rowdies shirts each game at our games, that doesn't prove anything.Fact is, who knows if you're really telling the truth but im guessing if you are you probably complained at Pitt as well. Just stop being such a negative nancy, wear your shirt, and have fun. Being a big downer like your being only causes more problems, so if you dont want to be in the Rowdies and dont want to sit down low than fine, it's your choice.Fact is, I'm not complaining. Fact is, I sit down there every game when my friends don't go with me (none of them want to sit there anymore). Fact is, I'll be sitting down there tonight. I'm not being a downer, I just want to see more students at the games, and I want to see the bottom sections full. I'm trying to give some suggestions. You're pretty much saying it's my way or the highway, and fact is, apparently more students want to take the highway.also, if you would read my posts, I'm cool with the way it is now, it isn't stopping me from ever attending games. It's stopping the other, not so "rowdie" students. hopefully something can be done to get them into the Zips! Go Zips!It IS your way or the highway....rules are rules and you either follow them or you dont sit down there. If you want to have a say and make your own rules you can go over to Can't where they make sure everyone is happy and no one is sad. Quote
bandzip Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 Every student recieved this letter via Zipmail this evening, along with a picture from the game:--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Greetings from the JAR:On behalf of our entire Zips family and specifically the student-athletes on the men’s basketball team, I want to say thanks for your show of support and solidarity last Friday night in our game against Can't State. Though the outcome was not what any of us wanted, the energy and excitement that you brought to the game was incredible. I hope all of you could see that together you can make a difference in the environment at Zips athletic events. In the next months, we will be reaching out to many of the student groups on campus to ask for your opinion on how to grow student attendance at all Zips events. I hope you will help us make your experience here at Akron even better then it is. Football season is six months away and I hope you are ready to bring that energy and excitement back to InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field. You, the students, are what make College Sports so exciting! We look forward to having you make InfoCision Stadium the toughest place to play in the MAC.Thanks again for your support and Go Zips!TomTom WistrcillDirector of Athletics Quote

Another 18% said we had a game? The last 2% said ya I was there and I wish more students would come. Quote

mes102 Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 I wonder how many students actually checked their emails tonight... Quote
zen Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 I'm a freshman at UA, and I must have missed all the rowdy recruiters when I was going though orientation. My question is how do I contact someone in order to join the Rowdies? This would seem to support the nudge concept.... however, the problem I have with it is that all the people who end up saying "I never signed up to be a Rowdy. They tricked me!" I mean, don't you want people who are actually interested? Quote
