psc2009 Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 TMD's 2010 preview is out. We've got Akron finishing sixth. Maybe more importantly though, in that ND story, Rob Ianello has some good quotes. Perhaps most importantly, he eludes to a game with the Irish being announced soon. http://themacdaily.com/1_154_2010-MAC-Football-Preview.html Quote
ZachTheZip Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 I hope it's for 2012 or later. A game in South Bend in 2011 means playing 3 non-conference road games against OSU, Cinci, and ND. That's killer. Quote

akzipper Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 Even if we are winning, he could be gone. I can see back-to-back undefeated seasons of 12-0 in 2010 and 2011. Coach I would have to leave to go to a bigger program, and I fully expect to see this happen, along with undefeated seasons from our basketball and soccer team. Anything less would be a failure! 72 Roo Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 I also believe in undefeated football seasons in 2010 and 2011. Other beliefs I have are that BigFoot lives in Ellet, Doug Martin is a genius of a football coach and the Great Pumpkin will visit my most sincere pumpkin patch this year. You betcha! Quote

Hands-down, "Doug Martin is a genius of a football coach" is the most absurd of your statements. It is funny to see Zips fans grouse about the hiring of a new coach after 4- and 3-win seasons.... whomever the coach might be. In K.e.n.t., 3-9 gets you a 5-year contract extension. Quote

If our team doesn't start to get better, at least we'll have a good football team to watch. Seriously though...It's essential to have money games, and chances to get noticed on a national stage. ZachTheZip Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 Well, with the Big Ten going to 9 conference games next year, we'll be seeing more money games against opponents outside of the usual suspects. Quote

However OSU was adamently opposed to anything that would jeopardize their 7 home games. It's something that will likely be voted on later and wouldn't take affect until 2015 at the earliest. Quote
