More trouble in Athens?

Quickzips

Recommended Posts

Whispers out of Athens, Ohio have SG Steven Coleman leaving the program. Coleman, a Junior, played 25 minutes per game and averaged 11 points per game early in the season for the Bobcats before going down with a season ending injury. He was expected to fill the void at SG left by the departure of Armon Bassett. Many fans felt he might actually be an upgrade over Bassett. If true this would be a significant blow to the defending MAC Tournament Champions.

Are you sure? Is there a quality source yet?

This is just bizarre. Hard to figure out what is going on in the kids head with something like this. "Duh....let's see....I can have college paid for, play some hoops for a competitive team, maybe get enough attention to get a nice little contract overseas or maybe get a look at the NBA. Worst case I get a free degree. Orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....I could try my hand in the music industry where odds are I will be chewed up and spit out before I get anywhere close to something that looks like success. I think I'll go with the music deal." Strange. Just strange.

Well, at least he didn't repeatedly steal from his teammates to raise money for his drug habit, as did a certain starting QB last year. But seriously, he's a kid and kids often make stupid decisions. That said, he might come to his senses and return to the team. If not, the Bobcats are fairly strong at guard now, and they certainly played well without him virtually all of 2009/10.

JupiterDouche you're out of character... you're supposed to tell us that it doesn't matter because US News & World Reports latest rankings are out and OU's Art History and American Studies programs came in first in the NATION!

I miss the whole "I'm a tenured professor at UA..blah blah blah"..."Hilltop High....blah blah blah" diatribe too.

Poopiter Douche has been an ankle-biting Internet Weasel since day one. I thought after his ZN suspension he'd changed his MO. He actually (for him) had a nice run of on-topic posts. But a weasel apparently doesn't change his stripes.

To ZipsNation -- Please, no one here bring up Frank Solich's DUI, and subsequent cover-up claims of being slipped date-rape drugs. We're above that.

Thank you.

Stop the madness, there is only one thing that OU really cares about

Steve Coleman is back on the team. Apparently someone spoke sense to him.

If true, then OU really dodged one here. Their only concern next year might be the lack of a true center, which you can usually get away with in the MAC.

Most anybody would be an improvement over the departed KVK who was the closest thing that they had to a center.

That's terrible to hear for the MAC and OU, because competition is always welcome..

I don't know what happened between August 23rd and now, but Coleman is definitely gone. Jupitertoo apparently doesn't know OU basketball any better than he knows anything else.

OU's exhibition contest starting shortly with Walsh has a free webcast if anyone wants to do some advance scouting. I think Walsh will give them a game similar to what we got 2 years ago.

Ohio is in for a fight. Yesterday an NAIA team blew out D-I UC-Irvine. I would love to see a similar result tonight.
