First Rivals 120 of the season. Zips are 118. EMU is 114. The three teams that blew us out are 46, 50 & 53. :(Link

114. EASTERN MICHIGAN (3-2)

The buzz: Why is a team with three wins ranked this low? Two of the wins have come against FCS foes and the other against Akron, which, right now, is the equivalent of a FCS foe. Next game: Saturday at Toledo

Ouch

It's also sad to think that over the last couple of years, we've traded places with EMU. Instead of EMU, I'm afraid that we've become the team in the MAC that all of the other fans look to and say, "We need a win. Good thing we have them coming up on our schedule".
EMU last three years (under Ron English):2009: 0-122010: 2-102011: 4-3...Sticking with the process...

....Or, they are the most unimpressive 4-3 team in the country. The have two wins against I-AA teams. They have been destroyed in two "rent-a-win" games. The were destroyed by Toledo. They beat Akron and CMU who have a combined win total against D-1A teams of....let's see....one.

I'd still take their 4 and whatever over our inevitable 1-11.

I would too, but let's not get carried away about the great "building process" English has going on at EMU. A bit of smoke and mirrors if you ask me.

It may be smoke and mirrors, but I would never at any point in my life say "EMU has more wins than the Zips."

Relax, Dude. I was just taking a page out of the GP1 school of posting and stirring it up a bit. However, EMU knocked off Western this past weekend (with 9 passes and 50 rushes) and now find themselves in poisiton to be bowl eligible (!) with Buffalo and Can't still on their schedule.

I am relaxed. I thought my response was pretty balanced. And, I'm still not buying any MAC "building process".

Always the bad guy / troublemaker, huh, GP1? :D+1 to MaxZIP on taking wins however they come.

Took a look at the Sagarin Rankings today....182 for Akron. 164 for Can't. EMU is 87 believe it or not and this week's guest CMU comes in at 124. For the record Toledo comes in the highest at 34 followed by Temple at 47.The rest of our schedule....Miami 127, Buffalo 126 and WMU 69. I know outside of the top 30 or so these ratings probably mean little, but it does have Akron dead last in the MAC which I"m guessing is pretty spot on and has a number lower level Div. 1 schools ahead of us including YSU at 135. This is so embarassing...how is this acceptable to the administration? Tell me where they see progress from this team. I continue to re-new my tickets each year, but I promise you that I will not next year. This will be my last year as a season ticket holder and I agree with the others that say if you re-new your accepting what this administration is putting forth and deserve what you get on the field.

Well at least we won't be a part of this Bottom 10. ESPN Starts College Basketball Bottom 10 column. And with Coach Bowden (the Anti-nello) now in the mix, hopefully those days of being a regular in the football one will soon disappear.

...Apparently they want us to actually prove something first. Once we win tonight we will never be on this list again!!!

:gun:

Go ZIPS!!! Beat UCF!!!

It's always a great day to be a Zip.
