I love polls so I might as well post one now while we're in the middle of the season. What grade do you give Rob Ianello for his first half of the year as our coach?

Well, if you look at the season like a quiz, Rob Ianello has had to answer 7 questions. Like any good quiz, some of the questions were extremely difficult, some questions were moderate, and some questions were gimmes just to make sure even the class idiots could get a few right. So far, Rob Ianello has failed to find the right answer to any of those questions. I would say that's pretty good justification for an "F", even if we curve his score in relation to the performance of former Zips HC's, a fraternity he will hopefully be joining sooner rather than later.

The question in this poll essentially asks how Coach Ianello has done with this group of players versus what other coaches would have accomplished with the same personnel under the same conditions. So it really requires evaluating the abilities of the players and factoring that into what they've accomplished as a team under Ianello.

If you think this team could have won many more games under a different head coach, then Ianello obviously deserves a poor grade. If you think this year's team was less talented overall than last year's team, then this year's record does not necessarily reflect a failing grade for Ianello, but probably no better than average at best.
