I know what you're saying. I saw a different player at the end of the year too. But you brought up the important word..."Potential".

Look at the Center who made the list. He got talked about a lot as a freshman. Why? Because he averaged in double-digits in scoring, and almost double-digits in rebounds as a freshman. He came out producing right out of the gate. Zeke didn't do that. But, there's still 3-years to go.

I think a lot of people, including a lot of Zips fans, are still waiting to see more from Zeke. When that happens, he'll get his recognition.

Does he see McClanahan having a Conyers-esque turnaround? That would be an enormous boost.

Preseason all conference selections are a nice gesture and better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. Otherwise, they are fairly useless.

If you're going to put anyone ahead of Akron, it's going to be Miami (OH). That's the only team that is consistent year in and year out. Did these people only look at that we basically have a whole new team? If that's true, they are in for a surprise. Everyone who thinks we wont be good this year will be in for a surprise, too.

Akron will win the MAC and be a top 25 team by the end of the OOC schedule. This team finally has the athleticism and basketball IQ to do something. If they can mesh, the sky's the limit, at least for the MAC this year.
