Can't State - 114 points (8) 3. Akron - 104 points (4) 4. Miami - 84 points 5. Bowling Green - 42 points 6. Buffalo - 32 points West Division Predicted Order of Finish 1. Ball State - 124 points (12) 2. Central Michigan - 122 points (8) 3. Eastern Michigan - 88 points (2) 4. Western Michigan - 68 points 5. Northern Illinois - 64 points (2) 6. Toledo - 38 points Tournament Champion: Ohio (10), Can't State (6), Central Michigan (4), Ball State (2), Akron (2) East Division Preseason All-MAC Team Brett McKnight, F, Akron Scott Thomas, F, Bowling Green Justin Greene, F, Can't State Julian Mavunga, F, Miami D.J. Cooper, G, Ohio West Division Preseason All-MAC Team Jarrod Jones, F/C, Ball State Trey Zeigler, G, Central Michigan Brandon Bowdry, F, Eastern Michigan Xavier Silas, G, Northern Illinois Flenard Whitfield, F, Western Michigan ----------------------------------------------- Zeke not making all-MAC is a joke. You can't tell me that you can think of four forwards in the East who deserve to be on the team but not one center. And I don't see Brett being that great this year. Quote
Zip_ME87 Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 Instead of looking at it negatively, I hope Zeke is thinking "I'll go out and show these MAC media morons who is All-MAC!" Quote

He has the potential to be much better than just "All-MAC". He's not the same kid we saw last year at all. Quote

He has the potential to be much better than just "All-MAC". He's not the same kid we saw last year at all. I know what you're saying. I saw a different player at the end of the year too. But you brought up the important word..."Potential". Look at the Center who made the list. He got talked about a lot as a freshman. Why? Because he averaged in double-digits in scoring, and almost double-digits in rebounds as a freshman. He came out producing right out of the gate. Zeke didn't do that. But, there's still 3-years to go. I think a lot of people, including a lot of Zips fans, are still waiting to see more from Zeke. When that happens, he'll get his recognition. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted October 28, 2010 Author Report Posted October 28, 2010 Dambrot's media day quotes Does he see McClanahan having a Conyers-esque turnaround? That would be an enormous boost. Also: "We feel like he is about 60 percent of what he could be right now and that is a drastic improvement. Is he ready to win championships for us, not yet. But his hard work and his attitude is getting him closer to that point ever day." Quote
Zipmeister Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 OK, who didn't vote in the West team balloting? Preseason all conference selections are a nice gesture and better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. Otherwise, they are fairly useless. Quote
Blue & Gold Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 Nothing there that anyone on ZN didn't already know. But here's another nice quote "On the team's outlook:" "We don't have any reason not to be confident. We have won every other year. We have two guards that have played in the postseason every year. We have a 7-foot center (Zeke Marshall) that is twice as good as last year and we have a big forward in Brett McKnight that is one of the best scorers in the league. We will have to work hard to be good, but I believe we are as good as anyone for the most part." Quote

Just to avoid confusion, the quote is about Zeke and not Nitro, though he had good things to say about both improving. Quote
Let'sGoZips94 Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 Ohio and Can't ahead of Akron? What were these people smoking? Can't graduated SO many key players last year. They are going to be NOTHING! O-Who had a few key players leave the team. If you're going to put anyone ahead of Akron, it's going to be Miami (OH). That's the only team that is consistent year in and year out. Did these people only look at that we basically have a whole new team? If that's true, they are in for a surprise. Everyone who thinks we wont be good this year will be in for a surprise, too. Akron will win the MAC and be a top 25 team by the end of the OOC schedule. This team finally has the athleticism and basketball IQ to do something. If they can mesh, the sky's the limit, at least for the MAC this year. Big predictions, I know, but this team can do it. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted October 29, 2010 Author Report Posted October 29, 2010 Ohio's got the media curse over their heads now. They won't win it. Quote
