K-Roo Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 "The winner of that game is going to have a lot to say about who wins the MAC East Championship," Martin said. "We need everybody–everybody–here to help ths football team get this thing done. We have got to have a home-field advantage next week. I'm hoping and praying people will come out and make this an exciting football game."--Doug Martin http://www.ohioverticals.com/blogs/kent_state/ Quote

Big Zip Posted November 2, 2010 Report Posted November 2, 2010 Might want to back off on the Can't program in football. Talking smacking against a .500 program from a winless program just makes you look like an idiot. Quote

If I'm directing my comments at the same thing as K-Roo, and I think I am, it's a direct hit at their inability to draw attendance....whether they're bad or average. Quote

I saw the stands at the Ball State game. There were 2,000, if you rounded up. However, the box score said 16,000. With "tickets sold" being the reference number, they should have no problem with 11k/game. Local businesses are buying them up at $5/ticket, or less. Quote

It's really sad that they put so few butts in the seats on Josh Cribbs Day. Quote

I also watched much of the Ball State game and noted in a separate thread that their actual attendance was no stronger than our embarrassingly lousy attendance @ the Info this year. The general vibe I sense - and it gives me hope - is that people want to support the Zips, if given a reason to; it doesn't seem that anyone really even wants to support Can't State football. Quote
ZipRoo Posted November 2, 2010 Report Posted November 2, 2010 Can't students / fans, frankly, don't deserve the team they have. The flushes are in the same general place UA was in the year we went to the Bowl game. Quote
Dr Z Posted November 2, 2010 Report Posted November 2, 2010 The flushes are in the same general place UA was in the year we went to the Bowl game.I don't agree with that AT ALL. The Zips had a top QB that year, IMO Spencer is not in that category this year. Big difference at the most important position in football. If your just talking about record-wise maybe, but NOT talent. Quote
