Captain Kangaroo
Zips run out of $1 dogs...10 minutes prior to tip-off? ** The window remains staffed by 4 people who need a calculator to combine two $1 Pepsi's and two $1 hot dogs? Lines were 20...30 people deep? Who knew? Even when the Zips listen to my advice and run a decent college promotion...they find a way to blow it. Next time: Use this, fill it with water and hot dogs. Done. *** ** Note: Hot Dog warmer was re-filled, and after a lengthy delay, a 2nd batch was served. *** Note 2: How can we offer Doctorates in Polymer Science, but not run a concession stand for a 2,500 person crowd? MaxZIP
They have run out of hot beverage cups a few times at the Info. I know that Styrofoam cups have a short shelf life and all . They had plenty of coffee and hot chocolate for once but no cups to serve it in. Imagine how these issues would be exacerbated if the info was sold out. They still run most if not all of the stands for a crowd of 3,000 and still can't make it work. Football season=cold weather=higher than average sales of hot beverages=make more coffee=buy more cups. Seems pretty simple to me. What happened to the company hired to run the concessions? Do they handle basketball as well?
MaxZIP
Look at the asterisk...while supplies last. Apparently they had bought 2 packs of dogs on BOGO at Giant Eagle. They had to run out and get more due to the overwhelming and unanticipated demand. Remember Captain they have never done this before have they? You didn't lay out the plan well enough for them in your Buckaroo poster. You should have made a tactical game day plan that included actually being ready. So should they have found more cooked hot dogs...is that the point of you seemingly unrelated side note?
RootforRoo44
My gf and a buddy's gf went to get hot dogs and drinks at the game last Friday. They went with about 10 minutes remaining before tipoff and didn't get back until over 30 minutes later. Ridiculous. Though i will say it would be a good strategy for getting people to miss those 2 quarters or so of football where we look absolutely lost each game. Then again, sometimes we look lost for 3 or 4 quarters.
Zip Watcher
When I came in the line was long, so I waited until about the 12 minute timeout. Went down then and was back about a minute after play resumed coming out of the timeout.
scottditzen
Just chalk this all up to the magical aura of the U of A "We are small time" experience!! Who is responsible for this? What the hell good are brand new facilities if you don't change the apathetic, cultural loser mentality?

His point was that they didn't have any hot dogs at the DMV either!

CPAZip
Another item noted at Friday's BB game. The electronic sign at the scorer's table shows "This is Roo Town" all through-out the game. Look closely at the skyline in the background - it is Cleveland's!!???!! Not sure why you blame the workers...it's not their fault the university wasn't prepared. The biggest issue was that there was no limit on hot dogs per transaction...they were trying their absolute best to keep up.
