What a hideous game...fire up the email and thank BCU for letting us have this one. Only thing to make you feel better is that it won't be often that the Zips go 1/11 on 3s for the first 37 minutes of the game. Glad we got hot and brought this one home...there's some difficult games on the horizon, including opening the MAC vs K-ent and OU.

I hope no other game on the remaining schedule comes close to beating this one for ugliest win of the season. Zips looked dead on their feet, and B-C players were jumping around like kangaroos on a steroids and speed cocktail. Just a flat-out poor game by the Zips against a fired up, overachieving underdog.

Zips finally woke up at the end while B-C was coming back down to earth, missing the field goals and free throws that were falling unconsciously for most of the game. The Zips came out with some fire in OT, and B-T was never really in it after that.

McKnight did not look rusty, and scored a couple of important buckets. The Zips will definitely be stronger with him back in the lineup. The one Zip who seemed to have the most energy all game long was Diggs. He is looking more and more comfortable in the Zips system, and is really aggressive bringing the ball upcourt on a fast break. His D is improving, and I think he's getting closer to being a 20+ minute per game player.

Honestly, I don't worry too much when the Zips have a letdown game like this. It would worry me if they had three or four games like this in a row. I don't think they will.

It's funny now to look at the final stats. It's hard to believe it was the game I watched. The Zips final stats don't look bad at all. They just grabbed so many rebounds and made so many shots in the last few minutes of the game and OT that their final stats are much better than B-C's after B-C was leading all the stats for most of the game.

Worst individual stat of the game was a tie between McNees shooting 1-12 from the field and Zeke shooting 3-9 from the free throw line.

No TV for this one unless you pay for Zips Zone. Not a good matchup for the Zips so far...very quick and athletic BCU team up 9-4 early. All Zips points coming from Zeke.

Is anyone else able to watch through Zipszone? Mine just says Please Stand By. I don't know why I pay for this.

I gave up paying for it this year. In past years we got the "please stand by" all the time. They when we were lucky enough to get video, there was no audio! And listening on 1350 while watching on zips zone was like 30 seconds out of synch!

And to add insult to injury. they had some juvenile working the cameras and every time there was a free throw the screen went to GOZIPS or some nonsense and I did not see a free throw for three years. Repeated complaints never brought any response. So F@#& THEM. Not paying for it any more.

And on another note, while I can see them charging for it locally to encourage people to come out to the games, I live 500 miles away. They are not bashful about asking the alumni for donations. Maybe they should think about doing something to keeps the alums involved. Like giving them streaming video of games!

It is just so pathetic that the Horizon League, home of such giant first class universities as Youngstown and Cleveland State and Detroit can provide free quality streaming video and the MAC, home of OU Miami and other name brand schools can not.

Sorry, but all of this makes me recall a couple of the most absurd thoughts I've heard on here so far this basketball season.

1) Brett doesn't have a good shooting percentage. We can do without him. We have Euton now.

2) Since this team is already pretty established, maybe Brett can come back and contribute as a "role player".

If the recent article isn't enough to convince everyone how much his teammates are glad to have him back, the way they reacted on the floor on Saturday should be more than enough. He immediately changed the complexion of of the game, and his teammates leaned on him immediately to make some things happen. As he gets back into the flow, I won't be surprised if we find that he'll not only be a major contributor, but very possibly still the best player on our roster.

I'm guilty of saying that McKnight has not been as great a shooter as some people seem to think, and that there have been other areas of his game that were not strong. I'm guilty of saying that if the Zips had to do without McKnight that we fans shouldn't sit around crying about something we have no control over, but hope that Euton developed quickly into a player who could shoot for a higher percentage and contribute more in other areas than McKnight.

Now that McKnight is back, I'll say that I hope he makes the most of his remaining senior season and shows visible improvement in all the areas where he's been criticized by fans in the past. If McKnight has a productive senior season, the Zips will be a better team over the course of the season than if he hadn't returned.
