I don't mind the schedule at all. Sure, having the K.E.N.T. game late in the year could make for a smaller crowd. And normally I am as concerned as anyone with attendance. But right now, attendance is secondary. I believe it will become apparent this season whether this staff has a chance to turn things around or not. If they eventually do, the attendance will slowly come around. If they don't, someone else will soon get a chance at the helm. Besides, having the last two mid-to-late November games on the road will partially compensate.

Like MDZip pointed out, all home games are on Saturday. Tailgating should be terrific. Temple for the home opener isn't bad either. They're sure to have plenty of questions in year one without the Golden Boy (and I DON'T mean Steve McNees :D ).

There are also plenty of convenient road trip opportunities. I would have rather had the trip to Kalamazoo (and Bell's Brewpub) earlier, but I think I'll manage to make that work after Turkeyday.

All in all, I have no major complaints.

I get the concerns about Can't State. But SIX SATURDAY HOME GAMES!!! And, as we learned last year..you never know about the weather. But 4 home games by October 22nd= awesome.

I know the team needs to get better..but think of where we are now..hosting SIX SATURDAY HOME GAMES. Again= awesome!

Ken+ at the end of the season is really the only thing that upsets me. Play that game no later than mid-October when both teams are still in some sort of contention, and we might get 20k or more. Playing that game in mid-November on possibly a cold and snowy day, and you might not get 10k.

This isn't far enough to the end of the year, Can't should be the last game of the season.

Rivalry games should always be that last game...ALWAYS.

All six home games on Saturday? Last two games (when weather gets more questionable) are away? Sounds like tailgate heaven to me.

Even if both teams are 0-9, the Can't game is still the Can't game. I don't mind at all it being the last home game.

I like the schedule. Let's go Zips!

Another reason why I have no problem with the MAC allowing Temple to join as a football only member. The Owls were willing to step up and help fix a scheduling problem caused by us. They are a class act.

I've seen some speculation that someone at UA somehow caused this scheduling problem, but I haven't seen any specific details. Do you have any specifics, or is this still just speculation? For example, is it possible that FIU may have asked UA if the game could be rescheduled, UA agreed to try to find a solution, and Temple happened to have an open date they wanted to fill? If it was something like that, then the scheduling problem really wasn't "caused by us" (UA).

This isn't Ohio State vs. Michigan. In case you haven't noticed, we're struggling to draw fans for ANY game. The further you push this game towards the end of the season, the more likely you are to have a poor crowd for a matchup that would otherwise provide our only chance for a significant draw for as long as we remain a non-contending team.

+1

Especially when there's a bowl bid or division title on the line, as there will be soon. No better way to win the East than by pounding your rival.

I'll be interested in seeing the times for all these Saturday home games. Personally I prefer those late afternoon and evening games. Actually, if you really want attendance to be maximized (as much as I hate this to be true) you'd want to have all the games at times when Ohio State is not on TV.

I'm a Zips fan, please schedule times that are best for me and other Zip fans. I don't give two squirts about Columbus. 3 pm games are best.

Gives us maximum time for pre and post game tailgating. You might get a 100+ more fans by scheduling around Columbus games, not thousands.

And then they will show up in their OSU gear. No thanks.

So what better than put our rival as the last home game?...that should draw more than usual to a game that no one would have went to.

Also, attendance could be solved by removing the idiots in charge over at Athletics and actually winning a few games here and there.

What's up with homecoming against a non-conference opponent? Has that happened before?

I don't know if it has happened before, but there was once a movie called "Everyones All American". Back in the Faust years (pre-MAC), our movie would have been called "Everyone s Homecoming Game".

Not speculation; reasoned deduction. Think Kentucky/Wisconsin.

By the way, forgot to mention that some Louisville fans were grumbling on their forum about the FIU game being moved to a Friday night. It seems that Louisville tailgaters greatly prefer Saturday afternoon games to weekday night games. It was explained that ESPN decided they wanted to televise the game nationally on a Friday night. So enter ESPN into the reasoned deduction formula for speculating on who was at fault for the FIU date change.

I don't tailgate, but the 3:00 kick-off gives my friends and I the best time slot to hit the downtown restaurants both before and after the game! It really makes an entire-day event out of the Zips' game. And I get to show off the revitalizaions of both downtown and campus.

Did ESPN explain this or fans on the Louisville forum? If the latter, I do not believe it would be prudent to enter ESPN into the reasoned deduction formula at this point. However, we are now well within the formula parameters to include speculation from the Bluegrass state into the formula.
