Lee Adams Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 With the b.ball team winning the MAC again it it puts a little more pressure on the football side to produce something pretty quickly. Add the soccer champeenship and right now f.ball is getting left in the dust. Hopefully the rising tide does lift all boats. Quote
Hilltopper Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 As the Zips were cutting down the nets last hight, I noticed Coach I in the stands directly below me. I yelled down to him that now it was his turn to bring home a championship. He looked at me like I must be nuts. Quote

I'm not sure RI knows how to get there. Quote

Big Zip Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 Was at a local HS game recently sitting next to a guy with an affiliation with Colorado. We some how ended up talking about Akron football and he told me recently spent some time with JD. He said JD held no grudges against Akron and knew why he was fired. The next thing he said scares me because of the consistency it has with what others on this board have said....JD has heard ICoach isn't making friends and the football team doesn't like him. What is the chance this guy is everything we hear he is and he sets this program back even further? How many games does ICoach need to win this year for you to be convinced he is moving us forward? What do we do if this team wins one game again? I think he was a huge mistake and he proved me right last year. I can't believe we will win three games this year, but I hope he proves me wrong. Quote

I think we need to win at least 4, but looking at the schedule, I don't know how that's possible. We know all too well that the I-AA game isn't even guaranteed anymore. If only the MAC in football were analogous to the MAC West in basketball... I'm scared for this fall. With no NFL, the eyes on college football will be that much more acute and we have the potential to be that much more embarrassed. I'm not a current supporter either, but I would love for iCoach to prove me wrong. Go Zips! Great to hear JD has no bitterness towards UA. I always did like his personality. Quote

I say the odds are 50/50 that by the time he is finished, the program will be worse off than when he took over. How many games? Four minimum. One win? Ready......aim......F-I-R-E. Quote

"Soccer National Championship ... men's basketball MAC Tourney Champions and a trip to The Dance ... ." I yelled down to him the same way you did from the second level "Hey Coach - you're next!" I'd say the guy is under just a LITTLE bit of pressure to win and win soon. Quote

So, let me get this straight= you talked to a guy...who talked to JD...and then JD has heard from other guys that guys don't like Ianallo. That's a lot of guys!Just messing a bit, but c'mon. That's a lot of he said, he said, he said stuff. In reference to other posters comments: yeah, maybe he was ticked off when, in the middle of everyone trying to celebrate a great basketball championship, someone is shouting at him. Perhaps he thought everyone should just be enjoying the moment. Look, we have seen the results so far on the field..and they are ugly. And yeah, if JD is talking to some current players that he recruited and who still liked JD a lot..maybe they don't like Ianallo's style. Maybe JD was too relaxed, and Ianallo is too uptight. Who knows? Maybe Ianallo will bring it down a notch. This was the guy's first year on the job...and this is what you get when you get a guy that has never been in this position before. I have liked what I have seen of TomW being out there with the soccer team, being on the floor with the basketball team, and, seeming quite personable when I met him and when I have seen him around. Plus, I like what he has done with YouTube (in the past) and "Ask the AD". I'm trusting that this guy knows what he is doing...but, like most here, I am greatly concerned. I am just not giving up on Ianallo...yet. Quote
