ZachTheZip Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 NC State QB Russell Wilson granted release from scholarship. Led the ACC in total offense (3,998 yards) last season with the fourth highest single-season total in league history. Also led the ACC in TDs scored (37) and in passing TDs (28) in 2010. All because he wanted to be a dual-sport athlete and his coach didn't like that. Quote
Dr Z Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 No. No we won't, and no we shouldn't. Look at his stats and take a wild stab as to why not. Quote

Zipmeister Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 No. No we won't, and no we shouldn't. Look at his stats and take a wild stab as to why not. If by "stats" you are referring to his fairly pathetic .215 batting average so far this year, it should be considered that he has been improving in this area in recent weeks and his fielding at second base for the Asheville Tourists has been solid. skip-zip Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 I'm guessing his proven production might make him a much bigger commodity than we can attract right now. Quote
GP1 Posted May 7, 2011 Report Posted May 7, 2011 "Should we go get this guy?" By going to get him, does this mean to ask a former NC State qb if he wants to come to Akron to be a part of a team that went 1-11 last season? Or, does this mean we throw a bag over his head, kidnap him and force him to play football for Akron? My guess is the only way we "get him" is the kidnapping method. Quote
