FSOhio article on preparations for OSU. link
"I feel we're a tremendously improved football team," Ianello said.

Tremendously improved? That one will stick in my head while I'm watching the Temple game. I really want to see a tremendously improved team. It may be hard to judge this week, but it will be easy to judge against Temple if this team is "tremendously improved." I sure hope so.

"We look forward to getting into that environment and fighting for everything (this Saturday)"

I hope this statement is true. I want to see our team playing hard in the fourth quarter no matter what the score is. I don't want to see sloppy turnovers and penalties that end up making it look bad.

PS Go after this guy early.

Joe B to start, but B. Miller will also see time as expected.

Here are the game notes from GoZips.com.

The Article: I love how an OSWho article mentions that Akron is the only MAC team to beat them

The GoZips Game Notes: I sooo badly wanted to see them show OSWho's 2010 record as 0-13. Unless I missed it, it's not mentioned. What a great missed opportunity to rub a little dirt in their faces. And that may not be the only Zero win season they have, once the NCAA is done with them.

Talking to Bill King this morning, RI said he was 95% set on the depth chart. There are some guys dinged up that would be starters if they were healthy, said Rob.

Did he say who was missing?

He did not mention any names. You can hear the interview at www.billisking.com. You need to register first, but is a hassle-free registry.

I believe Rufus the Bobcat has paved the way for all future people who take pride in donning animal outfits.

True, but they need to be a man and not attack from behind. That was like pro-wrestling.

If you want to be a man, attack from in front. Your pic is a frontal attack. Well done.

Offensive tackle J.B. Shugarts said the 25-year-old Bauserman was more knowledgeable about the playbook.

"Joe's an older guy, he's been around. He knows the system a little bit," he said. "Joe's a little more of a pocket passer, but he's a lot more athletic than people give him credit for when he gets out of the pocket. We all know Braxton can make some plays on his feet if he has to scramble or step up."

If our strength on D is our front 7, go get this statue. TWENTY FIVE!!! How many degrees can one get in Columbus?

He played minor league baseball and only came to OSU 4 years ago.

Here are parts 1 and 2 of the press conference for game 1:

Here are some tidbits:

1) 6 WRs will see playing time (Meriwether, Suel, Dillard, Sconiers, Russell, Price)

2) Several true FR will play this week (Bostick, D. Morgan, Dajour Morris, Isaiah Williams, March, Bre Ford, Rossi), with Rossi the only starter

3) PK was probably decided today (day after video was taken)

4) Rossi beat out Bailey partly due to Austin's slowly recovering from an injury

5) Each RB has had a ding or two. Alexander has a current injury and they don't know if he'll start or go on Saturday. #44 has been going at 100% for a week and a half.

6) Some of the O-lineman (Straight, McCloskey) have only recently been able to practice.

7) Won't rule out PN7 playing, but there is no "rehearsed scenario" for that.

8) Lartey is ahead of Holmes partly due to Anthony's injuries (though he's back practicing now)

9) They were able to do things in practice yesterday that they could never had done last year because of the increased numbers. The 12th man non-scholly program is really helping out. Ianello singled out #47 LB Gary Ransom and PK Robert Stein (in the mix for the starting job) in this regard. Ransom will see some time on special teams for sure this year.

10) The D-line depth sure sounds like it's as good as it's ever been here. Caponi is getting better and better. Harvey has reportedly transformed his body with the new S&C program. Griggs and Wilson are playing well. Hazime and Marcoux are rock steady. Tonga and Isaiah Williams will see snaps.

11) Waller and Richmond are playing as well as they've ever played here.

So the most explosive player on the roster won't see the field...

Is this another year to spend developing, ramping up to some theoretical season when we can finally put winning at the top of our priority list? I don't want to have to sit through another year of "building".

To your 1st point, I am disapppointed not to see Tyler in the lineup somewhere as well. But how do we know the staff isn't planning a little wildcat for him? That's not something you'd put on the depth chart or discuss in a presser. I thought this staff ran a pretty nice wildcat with Gary Pride last year.

To your 2nd, I didn't realize how the years were passing you by :D

Or...that someone who has not yet played is considered the most explosive player on the team. Given that he is a freshman and an ICoach recruit...I would think he was not any good. (at least per Zach)

Zach...do you read you prior post to see if what you write makes sense or is contradictory?? The only thing that is consistent is that you don't like ICoach

I have never panned the players on the team. I have maintained, however, that Ianello's recruits are not heads and shoulders above Brookhart's recruits as some here make them out to be.

Tyler Williams is the most explosive player on the roster. I have seen him play. I have seen the other players on the team play. Williams is the player we want returning kicks and punts, and the one we want the Wildcat to center around.
