johnnyzip84
This is obviously a huge game if iCoach wants to get the ship turned this year.Opening odds have the Zips as just about 2 TD underdogs. I thought the spread might be a little lower with the Bobcats supposedly being banged up a little.
K92
I watched OU/BSU and the Bobcats weren't impressive at all. They were plagued by turnovers and their offense is painful to watch. They have one great receiver, but don't get the ball to him near enough. The Cardinals freshman running back had a real nice game which excites me to see if the Chisel can do the same. The Zips are going to have to play a great game to beat them, but I think they can do it. Whether they will or not is another story.

These games have a tendency to be close if not really competetive. Akron looks like they are playing well ...but...not really. This is a week Solich has to love. Hunker down and tell his team its a must win. Go out and bust them in the chops.

Every starter from this year's line is now out with injuries - three with season-ending knee injuries. One linebacker (leading tackler) has leg issues and is only 50%. Starting corner has a broken shoulder.

How awful are we?Do you really want that question answered? We're so awful that the worst of the MAC looks at us and says "well, at least we're not as bad as Akron." Those teams that the optimists here think give us the opportunity to finally win a few games will give us their best efforts because they don't want to deal with the shame of losing to a team like us. We're two or three levels of competitiveness away from beating the worst teams at home.
K92
Um, I think it was a rhetorical question, but kudos to you. You never miss an opportunity to rip on the team you supposedly support.
johnnyzip84
@jupitertoo: I honestly didn't mean to question your information. I just thought it might show a little more in the spread. Thanks for the details. Hopefully the Zips can take advantage. If I knew The Chisel was 100%, I'd be pretty excited.@Lee Adams: Just because someone pays attention to the line doesn't mean they're necessarily interested in betting. It also provides an indication of what "the street" thinks about a team.

xu9697
I'm excited about this week's game. If the forecast holds true, rain will clear out later on Friday, low 50's and dry on Saturday= football weather. Fall colors in all their glory, a day alone with the wife watching football (she is a big fan too!). The hope that 2 weeks off, SOME progress against FIU (at least we were close on the scoreboard and had chances), the return of Suel, hopefully getting The Chisel healthy, etc.Come on Zips...get it done!!! Dr Z
The hope that 2 weeks off...IMO, a good coaching staff has their team playing at a higher level coming off a "bye" week. Let's see if we can identify what the game plan is this week. I hope that keen fans can pick up on something new that we practiced and executed well this week.PS If it is true that a starting DB from OU has a broken shoulder, go after him please. Attack the weakness.WWBBD?

Dr Z
...does he have a strong armNo.Is this the first the fans have heard about Suel's back? I know he has been out, but can't remember if I knew why. Hopefully his return will help the passing game. If I were QB, he would get 7 to 10 targets no matter what the coverage, especially if the supposed cripple DB is covering him.
K92
The Zips must exploit every Bobcat weakness.I suggest we target these two.
