GoZips
For sixty-five bucks you get a round trip bus ride, a game ticket and a good dinner. Now, how can you beat that? Well, beating Huggy Bear and his current crop of thugs would be a nice finish to a great day. Check with George Van Horn or call the Akron ticket office at 1-888-99-AKRON
Dave in Green
I'd like to know who all is going. I know that I'm already in, and so are Hilltopper and Doug Snyder. Good chance for all the hardcore Zips basketball fans on ZN.o who haven't already met to get to know each other on the bus trip. Who else is in? mes102
I would love to go, and would go, but I have a prior commitment(a daily commitment from end of October until end of February) from 3-5pm that day and the bus will leave the JAR at 1:00pm...impossible for me to go... MontrealExposloveZippy
Sounds tempting... I saw Cleveland State play at the WVU Coliseum last year. They have a great atmosphere down there, so it should be a great game especially if the Zips can pull out a big win.
zip37
71---- I ain't a 400 mi trip, it onl seems that far.
Dave in Green
37, it is about a 400-mile one-way trip for 71 from where he lives. From UA to WVU, it's only 180 miles each way, mostly on interstate highways. So the bus trip should only be a little over 3 hours each way, and we should be back at UA around 1 a.m. Are you in for this? You can hitch a ride with me and Hilltopper up to UA to catch the bus for the nice, relaxing trip.

Dave in Green
@zip37, sorry you can't make it. We will drink a toast to your health in WV. @The Hip Zip, as Doug said, Erin can take your credit card info over the phone.
johnnyzip84
Sadly work will prevent me from taking the trip But I'm a definite for the CSU game. Does anyone know if there will be an "Akron" section up there? I'd like to get seats next to as many Zip fans as possible.
Dave in Green
I'm with you on the CSU game. But we should probably start another thread for that discussion. We already had a big discussion about watering holes around CSU here.
johnnyzip84
Change of plans for me. I am now IN for the WVU bus trip, but I'll be flying solo. Keener? Keener? Keener? Go Zips!!!
MDZip
I'll be coming from the other direction, but I'll see you all there. Morgantown is the same distance from me as Akron is from Morgantown. Wish I had a bus. :-) Also planning on the Detroit game since I will be home visiting for Thanksgiving. Dave in Green
Those of you who are not taking the bus should still call Erin and see if you can purchase seats from the block that UA has for those who are taking the bus. The more we have sitting together the better. Maybe you could even get in on the dinner, too, if you're interested. It would be nice if you could get the package minus the bus trip. GP1
There used to be a place in Morgantown called Oliverio's or something like that. Good Italian food and they had veal on the menu. Veal is usually good at Italian places.
dboze
Morgantown, WV is about an hour from Pittsburgh so me, GameChanger44, and the Walsh's will be front and center!! I spoke to Mr. McClanahan and he said that Nitro, WV will be in the house to support Brett. The Akron crowd should be loud and ready to go for this one..... Go ZIPS!!! Good Italian food and they had veal on the menu. Veal is usually good at Italian places. You got it. Oliverio's is the restaurant included in the WV package. I suspect, though, that we may not be ordering from the menu since the package price is fixed and includes the meal. I'm guessing we'll end up in a banquet room with a limited choice buffet. Still not bad as I'm OK with almost any Italian food as long as the folks in the kitchen know what they're doing.
Dave in Green
Any late additions to the WVU bus trip? @The Hip Zip? @Keener'92? If anyone has an excuse for not going, let me know and I'll help you find a better excuse not to not go. EDIT: Oops, sorry. Someone had posted that all the WVU tickets are sold out. So too late to join now. But did anyone get a ticket who hasn't checked in here yet?

ZZZips
In my opinion this trip was a first class efffort by the Athletic Development Office. Erin did a great job organizing. Her efforts, along with Anthony and Katie as hosts on the trip, were appreciated. I heard from several other travelers that they thought that the cost was a bargain. Bus transportation, a restaurant meal, $27 game ticket, free refresments and snacks (including multiple beer choices in unlimited supply) for $65 was a steal in my opinion. The Development Office has been asked if they planned on hosting any future bus trips. If you want to pass on your comments and/or suggestions, post your comments here and also forward them to George Van Horne III at ghvanhorne@uakron.edu
