ZachTheZip
Is anybody actually a fan of these things? They're popping up all over the place, like the little offspring of Tallmadge Circle and the the oval on Triplett by the Rubber Bowl. zippy5
They're dumb. I did a semester in Australia and they have them instead of 4 way stop signs. It's nice to never really stop but they're just annoying/confusing
Hilltopper
The one they built in Green on Massillon Rd is fantastic. The intersection at Steese Rd was a major bottleneck and now there is never a backup there in any direction. Its really a simple concept. All you have to do is yield to any traffic coming from the left that is already in the roundabout. Most of the time you just drive straight through without having to stop at all. A great concept after you see it in action.
tbozeglav
Theyre awesome if you ask me. Keeps traffic flowing at a constant pace instead of letting it back at a normal intersection. glad theyve begun to use this more frequently
zen
The two in Copley were great. I think they actually reduce backups at what were stop signs and allows everything to flow. I'm not really convinced that the new roundabout at Smith Rd and Riverview Rd (near Merrimen Valley) was necessary. Still kinda cool though. pdt1420
There seems to be quite a few of them down here in Columbus. I think they're awesome. I had a civil engineer friend in college who assisted on a design for a roundabout right in front of Lake HS. They've recently put in a stoplight instead (if you know the area). He said for whatever reason their roundabout design was treated like it only belonged in 3rd world socialist countries.
