TW can't survive this

There's no way TW can survive this travesty of a coach search, right? After creating the mess in the first place, allowing the story to be UA notified i-coach on the way to his mother's funeral, and now being turned down numerous times in public-- you can't possibly survive that as an AD after the University has spent nearly $100M on football-related facilities and upgrades in the past few years, right?

If I were Dr. P-- who I support completely-- I would have to be thinking that it's time to cut bait on this guy and get the dept. back under the leadership in place a few years back (Mack Rhoads-era). The timing is horrible-- we can't wait for a new AD to hire a HC, but what AD would want to inherit TW's HC pick. If this isn't a "clean house" moment, what is?

Debacle, fiasco, disaster.

Absolutely not. Mack was horrible. Tom is a step up, thankfully, but neither could hold Waddell's jockstrap!

If he gets Mike Johnson, I'll be happy. Otherwise, he swung and missed on at least 4 people.

I'm sorry, but the one person I didn't want was Mike Johnson. Reminds me too much of Ianello from coaching aspect....

There is another name though I would be happy with...been mentioned here before and has not been actually mentioned as being "in the running" for the job...and no, I'm not talking about the sweater vest...

1. Good luck hiring Mike Johnson or any other qualified candidate if that 2-year UA “out” clause is part of the offer.

2. Brian Wagner is one wise young man.

3. Times are desperate. Maybe LP should can TW immediately and name Vince Okruch as caretaker head coach for one year, with the understanding that Vince would be part of the next full-time coaches staff. Of course, this leaves the problem of assembling a staff for Vince. OK, never mind on this point. Points 1 and 2 still stand

Absolutely NOT. Anyone with the stench and taint of Ianello has to GO. And that includes Okruch and his porn 'stache. Times are not THAT desperate, my friend. And also, I do not want Mike Johnson. Just seems that he is not very personable. The community definitely would not "rally" behind that guy. He's a West Coaster. Leave him there.

I actually liked Mack Rhoads. At least he was approachable to everyone, including supporters like me who aren't the big money types. It's been how many years with TW and I have yet to meet the guy. I've met the previous ADs and boy do I wish we had one of them back. All TW does is smooze with the big money types and could care less about people like me who go to just about every single Zips athletic event. Earth to Tom, there are other Zips supporters out there who aren't big money, but are just has big diehards if not more then anyone. TW has to be the worst AD Akron has had. For me, he's done nothing that makes me trust and respect him.

Let's be realistic here. Actually, either one could hold Waddell's jockstrap. This task requires almost no skill.

Didn't want to start a new thread...but I notice that someone on the Facebook / UA Football Fans page just mentioned that TERRY BOWDEN's name is suddenly in the mix, at least in discussions.

Does anyone have any knowledge as to whether Bowden is a candidate? How long would it take YouTubey to drive to Alabama?

Some of you are stating that you don't want this coach or that coach. Well my friends, after 28 days, and nothing on the horizon, I think we better take who we can get. It more than likely will not be the perfect candidate. That has passed us by.

I have to believe that the proposal to a coach from TW/LP has not very lucrative.

Nobody is perfect. We have people on the horizon. The only question now is how far is the coach away from perfect.
