MACK RHOADES..old AD and Houston

Mack was a solid AD at Akron. I'm glad things are going well for him.

I honestly don't have much respect for a guy who left like that. It's one thing to use a mid-major as a stepping stone, which I don't agree with, but he left Akron to go to another mid-major. Really hard to not hate the guy. Would be like KD saying F- Akron and going to coach at UAB or something. Best thing is that we have a national championship and he doesn't. So I say screw Mack and screw Houston!

I wish everyone would put their bitterness aside. Climbing the ladder exists in all professions. It's unrealistic to find guys like Caleb Porter, Luis Proenza, or KD for every position at the University. If you ask me, it bodes well for the University because people leaving to climb the ladder means that they did their job here well and improved the University.

Same with the attitudes towards Lebron. He did ONE thing that wasn't classy yet he is a strong supporter of the City and of our men's basketball program. Get over it!

And other than men's soccer, UH is on a different tier of college athletics than we are. Good for Mack.

LBJ did "one thing," Trimmie? So much is wrong with that statement. Guess you forgot how he flat-out quit on his team in the playoffs, refused to help recruit other players to come here, refused to even take the phone calls from his employer who had built him his own practice facility, catered to him and his posse for seven years like spoiled brats; conspired secretly to escape NE Ohio and build an "easy" way to win championships by stacking his team against the competition; completely throwing Cleveland under the bus on a national TV spectacle of epic egomaniac proportions, while preventing the Cavs from even making a move in free agency--because he gave no hint as to his sordid little plan.

I could go on and on and on.....but, you see, little Trimmie, St. LeBron is anything BUT. "One classless thing?!" The man-child PERSONIFIES CLASSLESSNESS. Accept it.

Yeah...because leaving a 20 some year old to run an organization is the best way to go  . It's the Cavs organization's fault for always trying to please LeBron instead of just building a team, even if LeBron didn't even like that particular decision. Kobe Bryant hasn't like every decision the Lakers had made, but look where they've been.

That's enough NBA talk for me already...especially since this is a college football forum...

Little Trimmie? What's that mean?

Yeah, seriously. His post would have had so much more credibility if he wasn't so blatant about belittling me. I shared my opinion. So what? I thought ZNO was about intelligent discourse?!

The point of this post was to show that the past 2 AD's have had major FB success and are moving on ..

Mike Thomas at Cinci and now Mack Rhoades.

Unfortunately the current AD will not live up to the last 2.

I would say they moved on THEN had major FB success...particularly Mack. Nothing about UA football has been remotely successful since 2005.

Hey Trimmy, remember when I posted about the board getting "kinder and gentler" with the popular hiring of Coach Bowden?

I was wrong.

I do actually, Keener. Let's hope this hire is more right than you were. ;)

As much as I initially thought the iCoach hire was the wrong one, I think this is the right one.

I really don't want to jinx us all, but the longer you look at what is going on and the more you learn about Bowden and the staff he is putting together, it is hard not to anticipate great things happening for the Zips. I know that it is extremely early to be optimistic, but Coach Bowden has been spot-on so far. Could anyone else have made a bigger splash with the Zips faithful than T-Bow?

Jim Tressel, I think. But I'm perfectly content with Coach Bowden, and he doesn't come with the associated baggage.
