An at large spot with a ranking would be nice, but really, Akron made it to the tournament two out of the last three years. Even with winning the MAC title, they still couldn't get past the first round. If they can't win the MAC, they have no shot in the tourney. Screw the at large bid.

Of course. If we don't win the MAC tourney, why would we want anyone to just give us an NCAA tournament bid ?

Last season VCU couldn't win their conference tournament, got an at-large bid and ended up going to the NCAA tournament final four.

That guy can write a sports column.

This is exactly the kind of article I wrote about the other day. Thanks to the writer. Where are we? What do we need to do down the stretch to win it all? He askes Coach D questions that takes him down that discussion. I would rather read coaches philosophical thoughs than thoughs on individual players, etc. It creates a story arc for the rest of the season that the average fan can follow. Now, this writer has an arc to follow and can write about the arc at the end of the season, or do some analysis on whether or not the team is following the arc.

Good job.

Well yeah, but the CAA is much more competitive whereas the MAC isn't too competitive, especially the west. If a team can't win the MAC tourney, they will not do squat in the NCAA tourney. Just getting to go isn't good enough anymore. I want them to win a couple.

Because I don't want one and done again. I want the Zips going in with momentum. Also, if they do somehow get in without winning the MAC, wouldn't they be one of those teams that have to play an extra round?

Never was much of a chance. Schedule is too weak compared to the big conferences and they lost 2 of the games that MIGHT have given them any chance. The loss to VCU at home really said it all. Win that, IF they had won today, won out and gone to the MAC chmpionship game they have an outside chance. Now its the tourney crapshoot.
