Captain Kangaroo
Zeke could have a monster night. Maybe on Guitar Hero. But not on the court. Until Zeke decides to take the ball strong to the hole, he is fairly easy to defend. Especially with the bigger bodies he'll see on Tuesday night. All that work he's done on his free throw shooting is worthless if he simply kicks the ball out every time he's fed deep in the paint. Ham
NU doesn't have the beef to push Zeke around. He will get his points, but I think he will will be a force on D!
GoZips88
What a joke. A 5 seed? 4 seeds Marshall and Mississippi State both lost to us and have resume's that don't match up with us. A 4 seed is the lowest I would have accepted without calling BS....so BS. I'm disappointed we didn't make the Big Dance, happy we have the NIT, and turned the show off the minute I saw the #5 seeding AND where we're going. Brings back bad memories. The NCAA pecking order is what it is but that doesn't mean I have to like it. It stinks to be in the MAC but that is where it seems we belong until we can consistently win games like Miss. State on the road, VCU at home and prove we are the #1 seed in the MAC tourney.

March sadness is back. Same garbage every year. Multiple Big East teams, one big ten and even 1 pac- 12 did not deserve to go. Drexel did. ORU did. No matter how much success mid -majors have- VCU e.g., we will always be looking in. Then the NIT gives mostly the power 6 conferences the home games. CM Newton was clueless selecting the NCAA field years ago, now he's in charge of the NIT. When will these old farts just go away..
GoZips88
Zeke could have a monster night. I don't think they will have an answer for him on D, and he could control the paint on D as well covering up some of those back door cuts. Why Dambrot and his staff don't plant Zeke just outside of the charge arc and leave him there baffles me. OK, let him step out a few feet if need be but let him own and defend the high-percentage shot area including backdoor layups and the like. Dambrot even said himself following the Buffalo loss at home that "... we didn't do a very good job defending the rim." Then leave the big guy close enough to it to defend it in a controlled way! It kills me to see him step way out beyond the foul line to the 3-line and then have to work so hard to get back to cover the area near the rim. I've had others ask me why they play Zeke the way they do and I guess the only answer is "Go ask Dambrot."

I'm guessing your referring to the fact that he looked like he wasn't wanting to fight his way to the basket against OU. But, what was more troubling to me was that he made so many mistakes just trying to simply return the ball to the perimeter. Although, I'll cut him a little slack since he was getting hacked more often than what was being called. OU shouldn't be an intimidating team in the paint. But they sure appeared like one on Saturday.
Captain Kangaroo
NU doesn't have the beef to push Zeke around. If they have guys the size of Reggie Keeley and Ivo Baltic, then they have the size to push Zeke around. We need major minutes from Tree to win on Tuesday night. We need major minutes from Tree to win on Tuesday night. Agreed. Until Dambrot realizes how utterly stupid it is to have Zeke anywhere but firmly planted in the paint, he is going to struggle to get the rebounds and points he should be getting. As far as Tree goes, if i could clone him and play 3 or four of him i'd have myself a national championship contender. Every other player on the team (other than Walsh) should take notes on how to rebound, defend, and go strong to the basket properly. I absolutely love how aggressive and intense he plays. zippyfan34
I just realized I have a work trip to NYC for March 27th and then I looked at the NIT bracket and the semis are on the 27th at MSG. Here's hoping we make it to NYC and I get to catch the semifinal game.
