RootforRoo44 Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 beat me to it, was just about to post that. Quote
GP1 Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 Prior to seeing this schedule, I thought winning one of the first two was critical to the season. I'm not sure about that now. The two games against Miami and BG will be key to a successful season. Both games can be won and if they are won, the Zips could be 3-3 worst case with six to go. With remaining games against umass, Can't and cmu, the Zips could go 6-6...A long shot, but not out of the question. We wouldn't be the first MAC school to go from 1-11 to a bowl. It happens all the time in this league and why not us? Quote
akronad Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 http://www.ohio.com/blogs/ua-zips/universi...s-blog-1.277207 Thanks George. Quote
K92 Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 Schedule looks good to me. Home games kick off with a Thursday nighter against UCF and then the rest of the home dates are Saturdays. The Tuesday before Thanksgiving night game against Toledo sounds like a good road trip to me. I am pleased. No extremely difficult stretch in the list. I like GP1's optimism with that 6-6 pick. Quote
bobbyake Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 I like seeing no Big 10(12) team on the schedule. Quote
Dr Z Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 I like seeing no Big 10(12) team on the schedule.I agree...for now. In four years give me Ohio State again. Coach Bowden will be rollin' and Myers will be gone. Pretty decent schedule all things considered. Quote
xu9697 Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 Very nice schedule. Nice balance of good home games in Autumn weather (late Sept-early Nov). Would have loved to have a break in the middle somewhere to help the team adjust to new offense and new coaches. But, overall, no real gripes. Quote
Zipmeister Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 Given our performance in recent years I would characterize the 2012 schedule as challenging. The only criticism I have is that I think the Toledo game should be considered a conference contest. Quote
johnnyzip84 Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 This schedule is just right. Besides the points already made, the open weekend prior to the Toledo game is most fortunate. That's the weekend of the Puerto Rico tip-off! Who's in for the highly prized San Juan/Toledo double? Quote
Zips Win! Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 I like seeing no Big 10(12) team on the schedule. Me too! FIVE frickin home games by October 20th. This is unbelievable...I love it. Quote
K92 Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 Here is a game by game list for all MAC schools if anyone is interested. Composite List Some interesting non-conference matchups this year. Quote
Captain Kangaroo Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 http://www.ohio.com/blogs/ua-zips/universi...s-blog-1.277207 The listing of HS Juniors is something I've never seen before. Nice job, GT. Hope some of the games are scheduled later, so fall kids sports don't affect my Saturday tailgating. Quote
