how about some kind of bling bling for us long suffering zip fans to purchase? fans that suffered through years of shit and family of the players ought to be able to get something. the pro teams offer something to season ticket holders and i think even bigger college teams do when they win championships. fear the bling!! :macc:

No, I wish I had a copy on dvd....... Anyone know if that is a possibility?...... Btw, I'd really like one of those rings, too. Why not sell the dvd of the MAC championship game and the MAC championship ring as a set?

Anyone who goes out to buy one of those championship rings should be ashamed of themselves. The players and coaches EARNED them. Suffering through years of losing does nothing buy qualify you for a dunce cap. I should be the first one in line for the dunce cap for all the crap I have shelled out good money for over the years to watch.Great ring though.

hell no i am not ashamed. i'm nothing but proud. i never said give me a ring but you'd be surprised who not at the univeristy gets rings. why shouldn't the hardcore faithful be given the opportunity to purchase something? :macc:
The reason the hard core faithful should not purchase the ring is because it will cheapen the accomplishments of those at the University who have EARNED the ring.If you purchase this ring, each time you wear it remember that you did nothing to earn it and I hope you feel some level of shame for buying it. Find another way to support the school. Here is an idea. Give a donation to the University of Akron Foundation for the value of the ring and designate it to football. That is a real and meaningful way to support the school and you get a tax write off. Buy some U of A clothes. Do anything, just don't cheapen the accomplishments of the people who have earned the ring.

Because their is a difference between a player who earns the ring, and the fan who merely watches the event.

do any of you realize that professional teams and big time college programs offer some sort of jewlwery to season ticket holders when they win championships? take a look on ebay sometime and you see the versions of rings offered to season ticket holders. they are not the same rings as the players get so calm down for cripesakes.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion and I completely disagree with yours. This in no way cheapens or diminishes the accomplishment. Why should someone feel shame? That's absurd. This shows you take pride in the University and support the team. Don't you think the athletic department would get a cut of the sales? Take a valium and call the doctor in the morning. :macc:

guess what? i saw an 80 year old man in the stands at the b-ball game with a championship ring. no doubt he was a long suffering zip booster who over the years gave the u much in donations and was given a ring. any opinions on that?
Wow, that really diminishes the championship. No wait, that's someone elses opinion. Hey, I think that's great. Obviously a proud alum since he was showing it off.

Just to clear something up that 80 year old man you saw in the stands isn't just some fan or booster they gave a ring. That's Jim Jones, a man who has devoted his life to Zips football and basketball academics and who keeps the players eligible through countless hours of tutoring. He's been like a father to a lot of Zips players and is probably more responsible for this championship than some of the coaches because he's the reason a lot of these guys are even able to stay in school. I think if anyone deserves a ring it's him.
