My guess to the question would be, Jones or Jacquemain in '08.

WEEK 2 MAC EAST DIVISION OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Akron QB Dalton Williams...Senior quarterback Dalton Williams (Coppell, Texas) completed 27-of-54 passes for 313 yards and a school-record-tying five touchdowns in a 41-38 OT loss at FIU. The five TD tosses matched the mark set by Luke Getsy vs. Northern Illinois on Sept. 24, 2005. He was the first Akron quarterback to throw for 300 yards since Chris Jacquemain had 389 against Western Michigan on Oct. 6, 2007. Additionally, Williams' 54 pass attempts were the third most in a game in program history, while the 27 completions tied as the 12th highest in a contest in the school record book. Williams had two TD passes in the fourth quarter, the first was a 21-yard strike to Jawon Chisholm followed by a two-point conversion pass to Dee Frieson to give the Zips a 31-28 lead, and the second a 15-yard completion to Marquelo Suel to help Akron regain a 38-35 lead with 1:53 to play. Williams completed 7-of-15 passes for 105 yards in the fourth quarter.

When we continue to get better as a team, these type of numbers will result in W's.

MAC EAST DIVISION OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Congratulations Dalton. We are really proud of you.

Grandpa and Mary Ann

Welcome!

It's great to have him here.

Regarding the original question, George Thomas reported in today's article (in FIU game thread) that the entire O-Line won the award in week 11 of 2008.

GREAT JOB - a couple of those drops would have equaled ticker tape parade! I have thought all along that Avis C would be the first Zip to win player of the week honor. Not being able to see the games in person, I can only guess that teams are just not able to challenge him limiting his chances.
