LZIp Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 Kudos to Johnny Js for doing this, but its too bad a place near campus or downtown do not do this. Quote
zestycoyote Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 Kudos to Johnny Js for doing this, but its too bad a place near campus or downtown do not do this. Agreed. That said, Johnny J's is only a 10 minute drive from campus. I think Zips fans should give up on Barley House, or any other campus-area establishment, when it comes to consistently supporting UA athletics. Quote

Does anyone know if Johnny J's on Waterloo Road near 91 is also streaming the game or not? Because I rather drive an hour instead of an hour and a half one way if I can help it... Quote

Captain Kangaroo Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 For those with DirectTV, the REPLAYS will not be blacked out. I think there is one at 1am Sunday morning, and another on Monday. Quote
ZippyRulz Posted September 24, 2012 Report Posted September 24, 2012 If anyone wants to report back...I would be interested to know how the Johnny J's watch party turned out? Were there many Zips fans there? Did they successfully stream the game? How many TV's? They had some spots on the WARF broadcast so hopefully it becomes an ongoing Zips hangout. Quote

I was there and they had the game on atleast 2 tv's. Being an Irish pub the overwhelming majority of fans were there to watch the Notre Dame/Michigan game. I would say there were about 10 Zips fans there. There were a lot of people but by no means did they do anything to make it a Zips headquarters other than turn the TV on(which was not in HD mind you). I don't have a whole lot to compare it to considering I never went to watch a game at Barley. The few fans that were there did a lot of hootin' and hollering when we were doing well. I enjoyed it. ZippyRulz Posted September 25, 2012 Report Posted September 25, 2012 Sounds good. That's 10 extra tabs for JJ's just for streaming the local college game...still you'd think there would have been more. It would only make sense for Barley House to do the same since they're close to campus and it was a Sat. night game; IDK if they did or not. Quote
