Buckzip
Tough break. No pun intended. He was looking good too.
LZIp
Curious how he broke it. Was it on the big catch where he got lit up?
zipsfan33
I know Steve said he hurt his mouth on that play. The very next play he came back in on he got hurt...it was believed to be his ankle then. This one really hurts! Zach's size was such a great attribute! zipsfan33
Is it too far into the season for a medical redshirt? How do those work anyway??? I thought I heard Steve call him a grey shirt Saturday...whats that?

He entered UA in January 2010, and didn't play in 2010, so his eligibility clock didn't begin ticking until 2011. He redshirted in 2011, so he is a redshirt Freshman in 2012...even though he's been on campus a combined 2.5 years as of August 2012. I doubt he'll take a medical redshirt. At some point you gotta graduate. If he could get 3 healthy seasons in 2013/14/15 I think he'd be ecstatic.

Plus I think he'd have to ask for a hardship request (for 6 years of eligibility), and I believe they might have to show that the 2011 RS year was due to injury as well. I'd be thrilled to get him back playing for 3 full years. On another note, we can't forget that ZD11 was also the holder for Stein on FGs and Xtra points. Hopefully the staff can work someone in quickly and seemlessly this week, especially now that Robert is finding his groove.

You know TB has ZD holding for a reason, instead of somebody like Pohl. He has something up his sleeve he is going to breakout at some point . But I think the primary reason ZD11 was the holder is because he has probably the best hands on the team.

At some point you do have to graduate, but you can still play after you graduate if you have eligibility left. Why not play as long as you can and get your grad school paid for? He certainly has nothing to lose by at least applying for a med-shirt.
