Dr Z Posted November 6, 2012 Report Posted November 6, 2012 Odd thing happened to me while I was watching my Akron Zips play football on TV Saturday. I took a photo to make sure I wasn't in another dimension or an alternate universe. I had to google the roster to make sure I wasn't hallucinating because there were mushrooms on my pizza. Quote

I took a photo to make sure I wasn't in another dimension or an alternate universe. I had to google the roster to make sure I wasn't hallucinating because there were mushrooms on my pizza. She was directly in front of us (we were in the K.E.N.T. student section) for the 1st half (we joined the bulk of the Akron fans after HT). I hadn't read anything about her, so I was a bit surprised myself. I assume she must be a backup kicker. They might have beaten us if they had her in 2008! Quote
g-mann17 Posted November 6, 2012 Report Posted November 6, 2012 Yes but the other girl to the left in the picture is hideous. Quote
MDZip Posted November 6, 2012 Report Posted November 6, 2012 2012 Can't State Football Roster. Looks real, wonder why it hasn't been mentioned anywhere that I know of. Have women playing college football become that commonplace? 91 April Goss K 5-4 116 So./Fr. Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell Quote
ZachTheZip Posted November 6, 2012 Report Posted November 6, 2012 I wonder how that works with Title IX. Quote
you am i Posted November 6, 2012 Report Posted November 6, 2012 Wow. I thought that was photoshopped. More power to her. I think it's great, but she is so small how I don't see how she can possibly generate the power needed to be a D-1 kicker. If she can't knock down 40+ kicks, what good is she. Who knows, maybe she can. The only other female college player I can think of is the kicker from Colorado who ended up transferring (New Mexico?) after getting a hard time from her teammates. April has to be a hero to little girls everywhere who want to play with the boys. Quote
Dr Z Posted November 7, 2012 Author Report Posted November 7, 2012 April has to be a hero to little girls everywhere who want to play with the boys.Maybe this little girl. Is it possible, our rivals are on the cutting edge? TB, here is your first look at Sam Gordon. I think she fits the Zips offensive style. Quote

Hilltopper Posted November 7, 2012 Report Posted November 7, 2012 I coached a flag football team when my sons were in the first and second grade. We went undefeated until the last game of the season which was at the Rubber Bowl. We lost to a team that had a girl playing running back. She was so fast not one kid on my team could catch her when they ran her around the end. Quote
