Dr Z
I really don't understand why KD is getting so much heat for that OOB play.Because it is a consistent issue year after year. It is a huge part of winning close games, and our staff seems to ignore that fact. They need to get much better at it. It's the little things that separate good teams from great teams. We are a good team. Yay.
mivid12
No one player lost this one. Maddeningly, tantalizingly close to a big win (sigh). hasn't that been the story of zips basketball these past several years
Valpo Zip
I really don't understand why KD is getting so much heat for that OOB play. Because it keeps happening over and over again. The players change but the same inability to execute a play after a time out remains. Who is to blame? the refs? the fans?
GoZips
Oklahoma State leads Tennessee 30-19 at the half. Gosh, perhaps the Zips are not so bad after all. sic
Dave in Green
Tennessee is rated one of the top teams in the SEC this season. But if OSU whips them after just squeaking by the Zips, don't be surprised to see someone say that Tennessee must be overrated.

Dave in Green
Final score: OSU 62, UT 45. Interesting point here is that, just like the Zips, UT went almost 10 minutes without scoring a field goal. In fact, they didn't even score a free throw. OSU held UT scoreless for nearly 10 minutes. The difference is that the Zips came back to take it into OT while the Vols never recovered.
RootforRoo44
I even recall you saying one time at a tailgate you knew more about what soccer decisions need to be made than Porter during 2011 season. It's sad that you misunderstood me and resort to acting like a 12 year old. Truth is, I said "Everyone here knew better than to run out Darren Mattocks for that PK (MAC Tourney Semi last year)." and someone said "Are you saying you know more than porter?", and I responded "in that situation, yes". One thing you'll learn when you run a "little blog" or a "big news outlet" is that you can't just twist people's quotes for your own liking. Now let's act like an adult and stop being a crybaby because you see Dambrot as infallible and above all criticism.
RootforRoo44
I did notice that on that last inbounds OSU had a big just standing under the basket with his arms up jumping up and down, which probably ended any chance of a throw at the hoop for a dunk. That 0.7 seconds inbound play wasn't even the issue. It was the last play of the first half and the last play of the second half (before the ball went out of bounds leaving 0.7 seconds). Every time we call a timeout when we have the ball for the last shot I cringe, because I know we'll just go out there and run some miserable play that won't give us anything close to a decent look. I was praying that he would just let the team finish out the game last night and not let OSU regroup and strategize.
RootforRoo44
Exactly! Akron consistently finds a way to score or at least get an open shot at crunch time in Cleveland every year because Dambrot doesn't know what he's doing! Wait... Yeah! And they make them every time and win the games, that's why they're 2-0 in MAC Tourney Finals versus Ohio! Wait...
OZoner
Yeah! And they make them every time and win the games, that's why they're 2-0 in MAC Tourney Finals versus Ohio! Wait... Because it's the coach's fault the team's best shooter didn't hit an open 13-footer.
akronzips71
Whoever screwed up the paperwork for Tree and Harney should be hung from the yardarm. We could have been a contender.

I'm getting a kick out of listening to Frenchie call the game. It just surprises me they wouldn't have a substitute announcer of their own. Saves a little money, I s'pose. akronzips71
Would have helped us a lot more if we had won.
ZachTheZip
as a "good loss"? From a pure RPI standpoint. No loss is good. But the result of an OK State game has something like 60x more of an impact on our RPI than the result of an NC State game. So an OK State win benefits us far more than an NC State win. johnnyzip84
OSU now running away from NC St 70-50. The Wolfpack's CJ Leslie fouled out early in the 2nd half, picking up his 5th on a stupid decision to say something to the ref that landed him a technical. Edit: Final OSU 76 NC St

Dave in Green
NC State, picked by many to win the mighty ACC this season, is slaughtered by a team the Zips took into overtime despite playing without two of our key forwards and with an injury-hobbled point guard. But don't try to read anything into it.

But don't try to read anything into it. I dont think anybody is saying our team isnt good (besides a few over-dramatic posters). The biggest point in it all, IMO, is that they are just missed opportunities. Chances are, our season will come down to 1 game against OU in Cleveland. If we slip up, I will consider it a disappointing season because I know how good this team is.
