Might as well get used to the Zips playing their best ball in the second half. The Zips offense was adequate in the first half, and it's good to see Zeke leading the scoring with 10 points. But there's no excuse for allowing PSU to shoot its highest percentage of the season with their PG and best player on the bench.

I expect to see the Zips buckle down and play a much better overall game in the second half.

You got any lotto numbers I could play?

"This is an NCAA tournament team when they're whole," says the announcer about the Zips.

I dont think they are telling us anything we dont already know. Unfortunately, our probably only chance to show we are a tournament team is by cutting down the nets at the Q.

They need to keep Tree in the game. He is having a great game. Get him off the bench.

And Melo is NOT ready to play in this league. He is hurting us.

And Melo just made me eat my words, which is a good thing!

Now we just have to finish.

I know KD likes beating teams with the 3 ball, but when you have a decided advantage over your opponents frontcourt you need to punish them down low early and often. Zips did that early in this second half and have turned up the defensive pressure. Good gameplanning coming out of the second half locker room.

And with Tree and Harney we would have won this tournament.

Thanks for nothing NCAA.

Thats a little bit of a reach. We would have had to go through a team called NC State, or the preseason favorite in the ACC

Are things looking good for you now?

Yes definitely played well for the 2nd half.

Penn State can't use any excuses, sorry. I don't care if their PG was hurt, they lost by 25 points. We had to deal with 2 suspensions, Abreu's injury, and Diggs for the entire year. No sympathy from us...

I wouldn't read too much into this. PSU is a very bad team. We'll know a lot more about how good we are when we play MTSU.

They are still a Big Ten team, which has a lot better recruiting record than the MAC. And two blowouts in a row. And we could have, would have, should have won that first game. Just Tree would have done it, one more rebound, one more point in regulation.

For perspective on how good or bad these teams are, the following is taken from the current Pomeroy rankings of all 347 D1 teams:

68. Middle Tennessee

74. Akron

89. Penn State

Does not matter. A MAC team clobbered a Big Ten team. Not beat. Destroyed. Along with the total destruction of UNC the other day.

In my opinion, we are very very good.
