GP1 Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 IUP Schedule & Results Luke Getsy having nice career going. Offense scoring lots of points. IUP wins conference championship and just lost in third round of playoffs to W-S State. It will be interesting to follow his career. Quote

GP1 Posted December 3, 2012 Author Report Posted December 3, 2012 Let's Try Again Sorry about that. Still trying to get used to using an IPad to post on ZNO. Used that link the day before and I don't know why it reappeared. Quote
Dave in Green Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 That works. So he's offensive coordinator/quarterbacks for a team that seems to be built more for running (269 yards per game) than passing (152 yards per game). Will be fun to see how far he moves up the coaching ladder. Quote
GP1 Posted December 3, 2012 Author Report Posted December 3, 2012 That works. So he's offensive coordinator/quarterbacks for a team that seems to be built more for running (269 yards per game) than passing (152 yards per game). Will be fun to see how far he moves up the coaching ladder. It will be interesting. If I was the coach at IUP and my team was running for 5.5 yards per carry, I'd have trouble passing the ball as well. They get around 15 yards per completion and over 8 yards per attempt. I think they only had three interceptions last year. Luke needs to parlay his ability to coach a kid into a low interception rate and high yards per attempt and catch into another job at a bigger school. The one thing Luke always had going for him was a good head on his shoulders. He had a very good grade point, in a real degree, at UofA. He just needs to show other schools he knows the game and can coach kids up at this point in his career. He is still very young. He needs to move from IUP asap though. Quote
Lee Adams Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 There is another Cignetti coaching there. The school has a history with that family. He is putting that program back together after Lou Tepper kinda let it slide. Wouldn't be surprised if Cignetti starts moving. Maybe he takes Getsy with him. Indiana is supposed to be one hell of a party school. I have relatives who live out there. There ain't nothin' else to do. Quote
Lee Adams Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 By the way,IUP has some other Akron connections besides Getsy. Quote
zipsfan33 Posted January 11, 2013 Report Posted January 11, 2013 Great for Luke! He will no doubt beat us in the future! That however will not ever change the fact that Luke had one of the greatest years in Zips history! Quote
johnnyzip84 Posted January 11, 2013 Report Posted January 11, 2013 Congratulations Luke! Is that beer or Old Grand Dad? Quote
Dr Z Posted January 11, 2013 Report Posted January 11, 2013 Is that beer or Old Grand Dad?I specifically chose that one and not this one Quote
johnnyzip84 Posted January 11, 2013 Report Posted January 11, 2013 I specifically chose that one and not this one Now I should have spotted that right away. Well done. This should make for one interesting time in Lot 9 the next time WMU comes calling! Quote
Captain Kangaroo Posted January 11, 2013 Report Posted January 11, 2013 Now I should have spotted that right away. Well done. This should make for one interesting time in Lot 9 the next time WMU comes calling! Hopefully WMU doesn't become a MAC bottom-feeder, or we'll never play them. Quote
johnnyzip84 Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 Now THAT looks strangely familiar Quote
