MontrealExposloveZippy
Crayton, Craeten, Kraitin........................ Anyway, I see we will be playing #16 Creighton on ESPN3. A win here could really eliminate our early season losses- Obviously, on the road will be challenging, but it seems as though the Zips are developing some thick skin and starting to play well together- Additionally, Cleveland St. plays #25 NC State this weekend. If the Vikes win there- it'll be a fantastic match-up when we have them at home.

taxpayer
Creighton will have 16,500 fans to assist their team in creating a home court advantage. The Zips will need to play solid at both ends of the court and I fully expect them to. This is a difficult test considering the distance traveled, the rabid support and the quality of the opponent. Great measuring stick...
Dave in Green
Creighton goes to Lincoln, NE, tonight and destroys a so-so Nebraska team, 64-42. Nebraska has wins over Wake Forest, Southern Cal and Valparaiso, but was also whipped by a doggy Can't team, so it's hard to say how good the Huskers really are. But the bottom line is that the 16th-ranked Bluejays now have an 8-1 record coming into Sunday's game with the Zips.
taxpayer
Creighton put together another impressive performance in their rivals facility in front of a full house (13,000+). They are an impressive group of players, especially DMac. I'm sure the Zips coaching staff has a plan to slow this kid who can shoot 3's or post you up. It will be interesting to see if a rotation of Tree, Kretzer and Zeke can slow him down as far as scoring. Keep him around 14 points and don't let someone else go off will be key. It appears they play 7 with 5 getting heavy minutes; our depth should do the Zips well, especially if they avoid foul trouble. Zips have got to rebound as a team and limit 2nd chance points to give themselves a shot at taking this strong Creighton down.

Dave in Green
Scary moment last night for the Bluejays' first guard off the bench. Talk about playing with heart, how about a heart with a replacement aortic valve formed from cow tissue. Creighton's Josh Jones hospitalized after fainting

If college basketball has showed us anything the past few years, it's the name on the front of the jersey doesn't mean as much as it used to. I wouldn't base our chances on how the Zips do against Creighton based upon a win against Nebraska. Wake is horrible. USC is horrible. Valpo doesn't play anyone and when they do, they lose more often than win. Any team that has the talent to only score 42 points in a college basketball game is probably below average. I'm not so concerned about the "names" the Blue Jays have beaten as much as I'm concerned about a team that is 8-1 right now and doesn't fold against the "name" teams. The Blue Jays get the job done. The Zips had better be ready to play. No excuses! This is a game the Zips need to pull out if we are looking to take the "next step".....and keep going my prediction of an undefeated December. Dave in Green
With all the medical testing Josh Jones, is going to be going through, it doesn't seem likely that he'll be able to play against the Zips Sunday: Notes: Jones blacks out, goes to hospital On the other hand, 6-9 senior Creighton center Gregory Echenique is on a roll right now and looking forward to going up against Zeke: Echenique comes up big again for Jays
ZachTheZip
Creighton's discussion on Akron Overall, this looks like a pretty winnable game for us. While the whole "took okla. st. to overtime" thing scares me a bit, losing to CCU is a pretty good indicator of this Akron team's capabilities. I can only hope that their team is as misguided as their fans.

Jays911
Creighton's discussion on Akron I can only hope that their team is as misguided as their fans. Jays fan here. Some of us know you have a very tough team. We are looking forward to a dogfight Sunday. The Clink is rumored to be sold out, so it should be 17,500 or so on hand. It does not look like Josh will play, but we are deep at his position. Looking forward to the post battles. Good luck.
akronzips71
It's pretty funny that they think Zeke is the big threat on OFFENSE. They really have not done their homework. Sadly, the coach and players probably have.
