Zipmeister
Gahanna Lincoln is playing this sunday vs Garfield Heights at Walsh University in the Dunk for Diabetes Shootout 2013. Game time is 130pm I'm not going to hold it against young Aaron for participating in this event, but I think it's just wrong for someone to sponsor an ailment like diabetes. zippyfan34
Looks like the 4 games after this one (starting at 3pm) are televised on STO. Why not do all of them STO?
GJGood
Went to see Aaron Jackson, or at least I thought I was, play when Gahanna played Pickerington Central. I was disappointed, though, as Jackson did not play and I can only assume he was one of the players on Gahanna's bench in street clothes. I never was able to find out why he didn't play against such a high level opponent. Does anybody here know? I guess it could have simply been because it was a Friday night and they had another game Saturday but I would doubt that was the reason since Pickerington Central would have been the more marquee of the two games. Excuse me. I am puzzled by your remark. What is wrong with a high school basketball tournament where the proceeds go to fight a nasty disease. Could you please explain? Dunk "for" Diabete's......he is joking just because of the wording of the tournament.
GoZips
I had a sister die from Diabetes. I do not see any of your mindless humor what so ever. Turds.
GJGood
@GJGood, did you see this post and link? Nope, missed that. He must have still been out a game or two later in the schedule then as well. Kudos to the Gahanna Lincoln coach. It had to be tough leaving his star player, or one of them at least, on the bench for a game where they are hosting the defending state champions. Hopefully whatever the issue was is not a recurring problem.
Dave in Green
@GJGood, my best understanding of the Jackson situation is that it was a single incident of violating a team rule with no prior history of misbehavior. The appropriate people at UA are aware of the details, and the incident did not rise to the level of jeopardizing his Zips' scholarship offer. @GoZips, I'm sorry to hear about your sister. I didn't know that she passed away from diabetes. I can understand how you might be sensitive to perceived joking about that disease. But I'm sure that no one was trying to make fun of diabetes. The intended humor was over the twisting of words and not the disease itself, which has probably affected the families of many forum members. zippy5
Yeah he wasn't making fun of the disease, just the wording.
