GeorgeThomasABJ
Michael Beavan of the ABJ is reporting that Deontae Moore, a standout LB/DE has verbaled to the Zips. This is a big one. He had an early offer from Michigan, althought I don't know what his offer list is like now.
Dr Z
...I don't know what his offer list is like now.Scout includes MAC schools Eastern Michigan, Toledo, Ken+. ESPN profile More importantly, he was #2 on wadzip's local recruit list back in June. "He's the epitome of a diamond in the rough. He's about 6-3, 200 pounds and plays for a horrible program. But he is athletic and flies to the ball, and has a frame that could get up to 240 pounds if put into a legit strength program." --wadzip George, you reported back in April that Deontae was at a Zips practice. skip-zip
Ouch. I was just about to get really excited when I saw the Michigan reference, then I looked at this ESPN link and others.

I also saw him on campus while I was working on that huge Zeke Marshall story last year. It seems he's always had an interest. akronad
Great news. 2 players form Akron City Schools going on to play for the Zips.
LZIp
Awesome get! I like that we are going after the local talent. Hopefully it will bring better attendance at games, and most importantly, wins.
Zipgrad01
Ouch. I was just about to get really excited when I saw the Michigan reference, then I looked at this ESPN link and others. Nothing to ouch. He is a very good athlete. He had AT LEAST 4 d1 offers. That is better than most of our recruits in recent memory.

Further examination seems to indicate that any level of interest from those level of schools disappeared awhile ago. I can see his offer list with my own eyes. Eastern Michigan isn't quite Michigan. But, I hope you are right about him being better than most recent recruits.
GP1
My question as it relates to WRs is simple. Can he catch?

GP1
I dont think we are recruiting him as a WR. My bad. Scanning a little too fast and was just going off the header on the video. Actually, in the 21st century, a big, tall WR comes in handy.
LZIp
Actually, in the 21st century, a big, tall WR comes in handy. We have a few of them. Dillard and Pratt. Even though I wouldnt call Dillard "big", he has shown his ability to win the jump ball.

A lot of fans underestimate how important the ability to win a jump ball is. Joe Flacco is benefiting greatly from having Anquan Boldin. He is the difference between throwing the ball into the stands and trusting a WR to out perform a smaller WR. The more, the better.

Dillard is 6'5". Why would you not consider him to be a big receiver?
Blue & Gold
Dillard is 6'5". Why would you not consider him to be a big receiver? LZip probably meant Dillard is pretty thin. He is, I believe, 200 lbs., so yeah, he's not "small."
LZIp
LZip probably meant Dillard is pretty thin. Correct. 200 pounds isnt much on a 6'5 frame 3-4 years in the program.
