Dr Z
Elaborate, please. Getting Zips apparel has been a struggle for long time Zip fans. Example, many Zip fans have went to third party vendors to have our own Zips gear made.

I've seen plenty of Ts and baseball caps around where I live in suburban Cleveland, but haven't seen much in the way of jerseys. So I understand. UAZips
Elaborate, please. Everyone else pretty much covered it. The availability of things like jerseys and various "authentic" apparel has been next to none. For example, I'd pay nicely for one of the soccer scarves and the heavy winter coat the team wears. I think others would as well. For example, look at the Portland Timbers team store, you can buy pretty much anything and everything the team wears. Now I realize that he Timbers are a professional organization, but I think taking orders like the basketball team is doing is a great idea. Ensures they'll order only as many as they need, and if there's still demand after that, do it again. All that said, kudos to the basketball team for making these available. I hope the other teams follow the lead.
ZachTheZip
I've always believed that Akron should have as much apparel available as OSU does, in the Akron area. The fact that you can go anywhere and buy a shirt that lets you wear nuts on your chest, but you can't find any quality Akron stuff outside of the bookstore's limited selection contributes to the frontrunner culture in Akron and the viewpoint that the Zips are totally insignificant. The big problem is that Barnes & Noble holds the rights to sell apparel, and they are loath to actually do anything beyond the bare minimum. akzipper
So it sounds like they will only be available at the game? maybe at the bookstore? unfortunately don't see anything about being for sale online. I would definitely buy the jersey and shorts!

Blue & Gold
It was reported that authentic jerseys will be $150 and authentic shorts are $110. That's sure not inexpensive, but since I've been complaining about a lack of authentic apparel (for years) I'll be placing an order for one of each! Go Zips! Blue & Gold
The authentic black jerseys are going to be fully customizable. I'm thinking of going vintage with mine, perhaps putting Joyce, Travis or Wood (or even Jenkins or Ball - going back to the early-to-mid-90's) on the nameplate. However, I forget what numbers, respectively, these guys wore. Does anyone know where I could locate that information?
Dr Z
Does anyone know where I could locate that information?Google "romeo travis akron zips", "jeremiah wood akron zips", "dru joyce akron zips" then click on "images" Rome 24, Wood 21, Joyce 12, Ball 5...not sure on Jenkins. PS If I were going old school, I might do a Buford (23..I think).

Authentic NFL Jersey - $300 Authentic NBA Jersey - $290 Authentic MLB Jersey - $240 So... no, these jerseys are WAY cheaper than any authentic professional sports jersey. No doubt a reasonable price comparatively...but they are ALL still way overpriced. Might be worth 110 bucks for those shorts though. Btw, why would you guys put a player's name on it that never wore that jersey?! Why not get your own twitter handle on it? That's the whole point. At worst, a current player would be a good option...ya know, like that guy who's setting tons of records wearing #44?
cjapsu
No doubt a reasonable price comparatively...but they are ALL still way overpriced. No kidding - not to mention normal people wearing authentic football and basketball jerseys always look weird because of the cut of the jerseys. Authentic NFL jerseys are made to wear pads underneath so normal joes look ridiculous with puffy sleeves. Authentic NBA jerseys are made for guys with, let's face it, a lot better physiques than any of us. I stick with the "authentic replica" jerseys for most sports... they just fit better. I'm one of those guys, though, who likes to get my own name on the back just because it's always awkward when the guy I buy the jersey of leaves the team (see: my LeBron James Cavs jersey...) That's what I prefer to wear.
