Pretty amazing to see the Zips ahead of BGSU (of course they did beat them). This is the opposite of the mens since most of the strength is in the West (as the only losses the East leader has is to the West). But Akron does bring back a great core next year too, since Carly Young is ready to fill in for Taylor Ruper. Next year looks bright for this team too.

Zips held on to sole possession of first in the MAC East by beating a very good Ball State team. They have a very big game at BGSU Wednesday night, BGSU has dominated the MAC over the last number of years and the Zips could almost eliiminate them from East title contention with a win. Zips have put themselves in good position for a top four seed (which would give them a bye instead of having to win two games to get that point). Their biggest issue is they have two teams in the West (Toledo, CMU) who are the equivalent of Akron and Ohio on the Men's side. Going to be very tough to beat. Terrific season so far by the ladies, only one victory off their best total in history with at least 6 more games to go. Go Zips!

The Lady Zips are visiting BG on Wednesday, and the BG coach's last name is Roos. Not creative and not funny. An obvious jab at Akron while trying to promote their coach.

Continuing my assaut on Lady Zips' hoops - I saw in the PD that the Zips recently beat BGSU, cutting the all-time series deficit to 47-3. THAT'S amazing.

Win one more against them, that's called a winning streak haha. 47-3.. wow.

Another reason why it is so amazing to be looking down at them in the standings. I suspect that has NEVER happened before, especially this late in a season.

Under 16 media timeout

Akron 15

Akron playing the tempo they want to play. For those that want to see the men play up tempo, the Lady Zips just showed what it could look like...

Halftime

Bowling Green 37

Akron 31

Difference in that last 3 minutes of the half, was the Lady Zips got outrebounded. Only down six points with 9 turnovers(BG with 9 points off those turnovers), and BG hitting 6 three-pointers in the first half? I'd take that all day long! Just have to rebound better....

Under 12 minute timeout

Alexis Rogers for BG has a double double in this half alone most likely. Can't box her out, and she keeps getting offensive boards and putbacks...
