Just when we needed him the most. Someone has to step up.
Captain Kangaroo
If true, certainly a bummer. Guess we'll see how well Chauncey's healed-up? NDSU is missing their top scorer, so I doubt they're shedding any tears for us. Unfortunately, it evens the playing field.
MDZip
I think it was mentioned in another thread that Chauncey was disappointed over losing a starting spot during his injury but that he should keep his head up since you never knew when other injuries might make it necessary for you to step up again. Man, I hope he's healed up well, would love to see another Chauncey takeover this Friday night like the one that happend against UNC Asheville earlier in the year. Dave in Green
That stinks. Add it to the list: Q gone, Tree and Nick miss the first 3 games, Rico's high ankle sprain, Chauncey's knee, and now this.

ZachTheZip
I guess now's a good time for Chauncey to show that he's ready to come back full-time. If it's only a sprained ankle, then Walsh should be mostly healed by Wednesday.
GoZips
Chauncey knows this is his chance. To that extent Chauncey was still shooting jump shots 30 minutes after practice ended. Do NOT count Chauncey out of the mix. He is primed.
Dr Z
If it's only a sprained ankle, then Walsh should be mostly healed by Wednesday.Sprained ankles vary in severity. Hopefully it's mild, but keep in mind some sprains are much worse than a break. 3 Degrees of sprains If you have ever had more than a mild sprained ankle, you'll know it. Good luck BW. I'm a big fan of Chauncey's game, but I'm not sure I want him overdoing it at this point. If he feels good, I don't mind him playing more minutes Friday but I'd rather KD spread Walsh's minutes between Chauncey and Reggie until I know Chauncey is near 100%. Get better, Brian. This is a bummer, but the team should be able to overcome until you're back.
Big Zip
Based on the tweet it looks like Deji is going to get the opportunity.
skip-zip
Based on the tweet it looks like Deji is going to get the opportunity. That makes sense. We'll certainly need more Guards on the floor, especially at the defensive end.
Quickzips
Terrible timing for this. Going into what I expect will be our 3 toughest games on the remaining schedule is not when you want injuries. Not to mention that Walsh has been about our most consistent player the last 3 weeks. Sure hope Chauncey's knee is feeling better and his head is on straight. We need that experience on the wing. Don't want to see more of Deji. Slightly above average defender. Well below average on offense. He's a liability on the floor as you don't have to account for him in your defensive game plan. Free's up guys to slant more to Abreu or double the post on Tree and Zeke. If we are going to go to the bench crew to find more playing time it needs to be McAdams and Kretzer. Jake isn't exactly suited to play the 2 guard, but he's the better defender of the two and is still a reasonable enough threat from the offensive side to keep things rolling. Reggie is more of a 2 guard, but he doesn't defend as well as Jake. It will be interesting to see how KD approaches this. Sure hope BWalsh is back for the Bobkitties. Well I hope Deji plays the game of his life then. If there's one thing I can ask, please let's limit the telegraphed passes. Go Zips!! Someone please send an ambulance to wherever ZipsWin! is right now. I'm pretty confident he either just had a heart attack or his head exploded after reading this. Go Zips!! And no 3-point shots. Excluding the game against John Carroll High School, I believe Deji is 6-35 from 3-point land (17%).

I concur. If he plays: NO THREE POINT ATTEMPTS NO PASSING We might be very successful if we play keep-away from Deji.

Why can't McAdams (can make a 3, solid on D, can dribble) or Chauncey (skill set well-known) take all of Walsh's minutes?
Dave in Green
I think Coach Dambrot will surprise us with the starting lineup.

It could work out that way. This will depend on what either Chauncey or Reggie show when given their chance. Not likely to be Deji, he sometimes forgets to play defense. Jake is a possibility as he has the tools and is a huge mismatch as Jake is now close to 6' 8". Anybody notice this? Jake is likely to grow to six-nine. A power forward playing the two guard slot. Akron really is a big team.
