Walsh Injured

Recommended Posts

I think it was mentioned in another thread that Chauncey was disappointed over losing a starting spot during his injury but that he should keep his head up since you never knew when other injuries might make it necessary for you to step up again. Man, I hope he's healed up well, would love to see another Chauncey takeover this Friday night like the one that happend against UNC Asheville earlier in the year.

Chauncey knows this is his chance. To that extent Chauncey was still shooting jump shots 30 minutes after practice ended.

I'm a big fan of Chauncey's game, but I'm not sure I want him overdoing it at this point. If he feels good, I don't mind him playing more minutes Friday but I'd rather KD spread Walsh's minutes between Chauncey and Reggie until I know Chauncey is near 100%.

Get better, Brian. This is a bummer, but the team should be able to overcome until you're back.

Terrible timing for this. Going into what I expect will be our 3 toughest games on the remaining schedule is not when you want injuries. Not to mention that Walsh has been about our most consistent player the last 3 weeks.

Sure hope Chauncey's knee is feeling better and his head is on straight. We need that experience on the wing.

Don't want to see more of Deji. Slightly above average defender. Well below average on offense. He's a liability on the floor as you don't have to account for him in your defensive game plan. Free's up guys to slant more to Abreu or double the post on Tree and Zeke.

If we are going to go to the bench crew to find more playing time it needs to be McAdams and Kretzer. Jake isn't exactly suited to play the 2 guard, but he's the better defender of the two and is still a reasonable enough threat from the offensive side to keep things rolling. Reggie is more of a 2 guard, but he doesn't defend as well as Jake.

It will be interesting to see how KD approaches this. Sure hope BWalsh is back for the Bobkitties.

Why can't McAdams (can make a 3, solid on D, can dribble) or Chauncey (skill set well-known) take all of Walsh's minutes?

It could work out that way. This will depend on what either Chauncey or Reggie show when given their chance.

Not likely to be Deji, he sometimes forgets to play defense. Jake is a possibility as he has the tools and is a huge

mismatch as Jake is now close to 6' 8". Anybody notice this? Jake is likely to grow to six-nine.

A power forward playing the two guard slot. Akron really is a big team.
