Way to go ladies, two Zips in the MAC semifinals, something no other school can claim even with 10 teams still alive for the two titles right now (NIU, Miami and BGSU the only schools that have been eliminated from both - either Can't or Buffalo and EMU or WMU will join them this evening).

Hustle Belt not only reviews the games, but awards a winner of the battle of the bands as well. Their band review of Akron-Buffalo:

Battle Of The Bands:

This battle belonged to Akron. Buffalo, surprising, came out LATE to the floor, and did not make it out until right before tip-off. Not too mention Akron's band made strong use of the Cowbell. Akron is 1-0, while Buffalo falls to 1-2.

Did any one look into the possibility of borrowing Kacie Cassell to play for the men's team for a bit? 12 points, 12 assists, 1 turnover. Wow,

Kacie currently leading the nation in assists per game as well...

stat of the day: Lady Zips are 20-0 when leading at halftime. Now THAT is what I call #FINISH

And this 2013 Lady Zips recruit, who is coming to Akron next season, knows how to finish as well:

Out of the three other teams remaining, this is Akron's best chance to make it to the MAC Championship game. It's also not set in stone that Toledo will beat Central Michigan tomorrow either.

As of now, Toledo isn't ranked nationally. They got pulled out of top 25 even after beating Ball State by 30. So for now, they're not nationally ranked. Toledo fans do believe that they will face us in MAC Championship game if they beat CMU...

Ladies lead Ball State 40-29 at the half. Man, it would be awesome to get both Zips teams into the finals today. #Finish ladies. :)

No question that we will be the favorites to win the MAC's automatic berth. I also expect Toledo to be an at-large with their 27-3 record, and recent national ranking. They should be a 9 or 10 seed.

Here's my favored eventuality (fingers crossed to avoid bad karma): Men and women come to the Bay Area, with regionals in San Jose (mens) and Palo Alto (womens). It was at Maples Arena in 1998 that I saw the only 16 seed defeat a #1 seed (Harvard over Stanford).
