Michigan State 2 Ohio State 0 Indiana 2 Michigan 1 Northwestern 2 Wisconsin 1 IU vs. penn state and NW vs. Mich . State in the semis I sure hope IU does not luck out and win the tourney...they lucked out last year to win NCAA from Michigan web site COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The University of Michigan men's soccer team fell to the Indiana Hoosiers, 2-1, in overtime Wednesday (Nov. 13) in the opening round of the 2013 Big Ten Tournament at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. U-M's score came in the 11th minute off the foot of senior Ezekiel Harris (Flint, Mich. Carman-Ainsworth), but the Wolverines conceded a pair of scores the rest of the way. OldZipper
I sure hope IU does not luck out and win the tourney...they lucked out last year to win NCAA How did Indiana "luck out" to win the NCAA last year? They beat the No. 1 seed on its home field, the No. 9 seed on its home field, the No. 12 seed and the No. 3 seed at the College Cup. That isn't called being lucky...it's called being good. IU were not the best side last year. Far from it. Hoosiers were the hot team at the right time, which is preferable to being the best team. Hopefully, Zips can be the hot team this year. TennZip
Akron was clearly the better team last year when they beat Indiana in the regular season. Indiana lost last year in the Big Ten conference quarterfinals. IU played 4 good games all year....they got hot at the right time... Over the course of the season, they were nowhere near the best team in the country
fknbuflobo
But the late-bloomers from Bloomington saved their best for last, and walked away with the trophy.
Dave in Green
It happens all the time in most sports where the team that was best throughout the season falters in the championship playoffs and a team that had problems during the regular season peaks at tournament time. Isn't that what we're all hoping for from Zips soccer this season?

Isn't that what we're all hoping for from Zips soccer this season? So the team that wins the tournament isn't the best team, just the last team? Brilliant! I've been saying that for years. MDZip
The Zips have earned a top 16 seed and there shouldn't be anyone that they should fear seeing in the tournament (although the same holds for just about every other team - this one is wide open). While it's cold, Philly is a very easy trip for me - c'mon Zips - Seattle, Cary, Santa Barbara, why not Philadelphia?

acstorfer
I just spent 20 minutes on ncaa.com trying to find the selection show to absolutely no results. Well I found division II, a snip it of women's soccer, 2012 Selection Show. I give up. It looks like we got absolutely hosed anyway.
