Zipmeister
I would think an 8-4 MAC team has a much better chance of securing a bowl game over a 7-5 record. I'm pretty sure "a much better chance of securing a bowl game" is not exactly the same as "will secure" a bowl game, which is what you claimed earlier. Zips are currently 7.5 point dogs, but these dogs are ready to take a bite out of the Rockets.
LZIp
Well we look like complete crap so far. Not sure Dillard ever had control of that fumble. Too bad terry didn't want to challenge it because he wasted a timeout before the offense ever ran a snap.
AKSportsFan
Slow day on zipsnation... Zips playing tough.
AKSportsFan
Loved taking that risk on 4th. 4 plays later in the end zone!
msopher
Akron is going to win this game. We are a terrible second half team... Our players don't give a shit, our coaching staff is clueless...Go Rockets!
LZIp
After the first drive, I love our play. Both teams are playing about how I expected. Really like our chances and I'm glad TB is finding ways to get some seniors involved like Austin Bailey on the fake punt. Let's go!!

you am i
So far, the three big plays are Akron's end zone interception, Akron's successful fake punt, and Toledo's unsuccessful fake punt. All have gone Akron's way. Well, there a TD to Reedy. That was quick.

AKSportsFan
Zips WIN! 5 wins on the season. I'll take it. Akron 31 UT 29 FINAL
g-mann17
5-7, 4-4 in the MAC, 3 yards away from 6-6 and two chokes away from 8-4. And let's not forget 4-5 down the stretch. I think Bowden was right on with is prediction "biggest improvement in program history." We start 2014 with Howard which will be a chance for 4 wins in a row. MDZip
I love how Terry Bowden played to win it. A fake punt deep in our territory, going for it and scoring a touchdown on 4th and 2. Some great plays by the defense and special teams (how about Pratt's tackle and onside kick recovery and Grice's blocked PAT). What a great way to end the season, gives a lot of hope going into 2014. Who saw a .500 MAC record coming with having to play the top three teams in the West? Well done.
LZIp
I think Bowden was right on with is prediction "biggest improvement in program history." I was about to bring this up myself. We won the max games I expected this year, and I was probably more optimistic than some of the other posters. The other wins were nice, but this win really means a lot to me and I think a lot for the program. Toledo is probably the 3rd best team in the MAC, and the two ahead of them are pretty damn good. This win feels as great to me as the basketball team kicking OU's butt last year in the MAC-C, the OT MAC-C thriller over Can't St, and yes, even the soccer national championship (only because I care so much about football). We played our best game of the season today, IMO, and still played nowhere near perfect, yet came away with the win. I am happy for the seniors who get to go out on a high note after 3 years of hell. Also have to give Hilltopper a shout out for making the coaching staff aware of Pratt. He made two huge plays today. Is it August 28th yet?! dre22era
Great win today to close out the season. the last seconds of the game showing the Zips sideline was a sight to see. The future is bright. Proud Alum
MDZip
We start 2014 with Howard which will be a chance for 4 wins in a row. Also love that the Zips will get a game in before facing Penn State. Nice scheduling. Now give us what we should get out of the West next year and I could see a chance of actually competing for the MAC Championship (assuming the defense can be shored up but the offense returns a lot of talent). Wow again. I believe.

Wow again. I believe. The defense won't be that bad off, a lot of the 2 deep dbs played some quality minutes and look generally good. Hollis and Grice are both back, D-End we get to add Se'Von Pittman and Capi may be back, we already know the Linebacking corp is tough. We just need the OL shored up. I'm a lot more comfortable with Pohl after today, we will have to see how the surgery and recovery goes though.
JRisTCB
Listened to the game while working today. So proud of the kids, especially the seniors. Not only for today, but how they finished this season. It is very refreshing to go into the off-season with great optimism and hope for the future! Go Zips!
