However, They're playing really well, and will be tough to beat. Their players are playing to the potential everyone thought they would. Good luck to the Lady Zips!!!!!! These ladies have worked hard to get back to this point, and they're back and ready to win the program's first MAC Championship. Quote

GP1 Posted March 15, 2014 Report Posted March 15, 2014 Hats off to Coach Kest. She basically took a Division III team and turned it into a MAC contender. I don't think it would be a stretch to say when she took over the WBB program, it was the worst program in the country. It may have been the worst program of any WBB or MBB program out there. The WBB program was way worse off than the football program when either Ianello or Faust were fired. It was a disaster. She ruffled a lot of feathers early on, but it isn't easy to turn a program with a long history of accepting losing into a winning program. Recruiting players and coaching them is part of the job and a coach being good at that should be expected. The culture change had to have been the most difficult job because a coach is never really training to do that. She demanded more and got more. Funny how that work. Quote

MDZip Posted March 15, 2014 Report Posted March 15, 2014 After watching them last year I really thought they'd have a shot this year but when Sina King went down and CMU and BGSU played so well thought they had a much longer shot at it but things really fell their way in this tournament and are really taking advantage. Wouldn't it be ironic if the first NCAA tournament win came from the ladies? Quote
