Captain Kangaroo
I play softball in Stow Sunday evenings. I noticed one of the opposing players has "Rasor" on the back of his jersey. It turned out to be Mike. We spoke for a few minutes. Very nice guy. He mentioned Larry Pantages is no longer the Beacon Sports Editor. I'm assuming he left to take a job as President of A-holes Anonymous? The new Editor is a U of A grad and apparently a fan of the Zips program. We'll see how that develops...Rasor's Keg-Kickers beat us 10-8, I believe. Bastards.
Ryno aka Menace
So what exactly does that mean? Will we have more coverage, or just properly written stories...ya know like who and when we play will be correct. Or does it mean what it should Zips on the front page of the sports instead of columbus state.
Zips fan
I would love for the Beacon to be on board with the Zips. It has been embarrassing the local paper has been so bad. I not only hope for accuracy but for the Zips to be the front page before and after every football game.
Blue & Gold
Absolutely yes!!! Zips on the front page the day before the game, on gameday, and the day after the game. We are also in much need of opponent analysis - position breakdowns, players to watch for, etc. The BJ has not properly educated or informed the Akron area on Zips athletics in years. It's been absolutely emabarrassing, demoralizing and downright infuriating! Absolutely inexcusable and unacceptable. Hopefully the new ownership will actually make the Beacon Akron's paper!!! Hilltopper
There was more good news today with the departure of J. Crutchfield as the publisher of the ABJ. Hopefully the new ownership will put things back in shape at the ABJ. If they write one more op-ed or story about how wonderful Cant states departing pres. is I'm going to puke.
