LZIp Posted August 2, 2014 Report Share Posted August 2, 2014 I went to the scrimmage today, and the atmosphere was everything I hope Akron football can be one day. Vine St packed with pre-game activities, the band marching through the crowd, people waiting in line an hour before start. All standing room packed. Top section of the bleachers were only half way full, probably because of so many people standing. But I might cry if an Akron game is ever like that. Difference is, the excitement level wasn't there for the Zips games because of the recent losing. Same sized crowd, just not as enthusiastic. Balsy Posted August 2, 2014 Report Share Posted August 2, 2014 I'm with LZip. I was there as well, and the atmosphere was fantastic. Though I would estimate the top bleachers as closer to 2/3 full. There were certainly a lot of people there. I think this was good exposure for our program. I saw a bunch of people grabbing football schedules and season ticket info...there was actually a line when I went by it.
