bigzipguy Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 no chance taking by offense = no winning Quote
LosAngelesZipFan Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 Wow. Ok they have to get aggressive on o. Pohl has to show real fire and will them into the end zone. Quote

PB1719 Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 Time for a new RBI couldn't agree more Quote
Big Zip Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 C'mon guys the coaches coached this game scared. Amato barely blitzed at all to pressure the QB. Bowden took no chance downfield on offense. This Zips team was primed to win this game and could of but the coaches took it out of the kids' hands. I feel really bad for players. Quote

Captain Kangaroo Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 We are absolutely petrified of the endzone. We want no part of it. Quote
Big Zip Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 This team has come along way under Bowden. I fully expect them to be bowling this year and in the conversation for MAC Champion. Quote
Captain Kangaroo Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 Our defense looks like a MAC Championship defense. Our offense doesn't. Quote
Zipsrifle Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 I think TB just wanted to keep it close, play not to get blown out and with luck we would have a chance to win. Not the case this year. Frustrating. On the upside, the last time I was this excited for Akron Football was 2009, the new stadium. FINALLY, it's going to be fun watching the zips again! Quote
Dave in Green Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 Our defense looks like a MAC Championship defense. Our offense doesn't.Exactly what you and others have been predicting all along, so no real surprises today other than to confirm what we already feared. Quote
lance99 Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 In the end: the defense got tired and the offense did no favors.End of story. Quote
PB1719 Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 If the defense plays as well as they did in the first half against Marshall, we'll have a win. Pitt is winnable too. Quote
PSU_Lions_84 Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 You guys put a scare into us! Score does not indicate how close this game was. Your guys seemed a lot more relaxed than ours -- many of us were scratching our heads at how tight our guys seemed to be. I know this doesn't help, but you put together some good drives that you can build on for the rest of the season.Rooting for you the rest of the season. PLEASE destroy Pitt in your game four!! Quote
PB1719 Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 I'm actually pleased with the secondary, which was my only major concern for the season. I still want to see other RB's receive the bulk of the carries. Quote
Dr Z Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 I'll save my comments for tomorrow morning. I hate losing, and everything I start to write reads like an excuse. I agree with a lot what has been posted. Quote
Zipsrifle Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 I think the Offense will do just fine in the MAC. Though TB isn't aggressive enough to challenge PSU, in the MAC we'll be able to put points on the board. There were a lot of plays where we "Almost" had it...clean those up and we'll be rolling.
