Zips vs USC Charleston Classic

Young Trojans favored by 2.

Hustlebelt Q&A

"USC really needs to work on holding on to the basketball, committing 40 combined turnovers in the first two games. Especially for a young team that features no seniors, just one role-playing junior and two freshmen in the starting lineup, the Trojans' have to play smart. I think we saw the best and worst of what USC can do this season. Andy Enfield's squad can run up and down the floor, but they will always get in their own way."

I just started to listen. Are the Zips on one of their patented scoreless streaks, even being up?

Yes. I understand you. They only scored 2 points in a 6 minutes span between the 10th minuet and the 4 minute mark in the 1st. I'm sure that's when you turned it on. Fortunately USC was unable to take advantage.

Aaaaand as I type, they are going through another scoreless streak.

8-0 draught, followed up by an 8-0 run. Up and down.

ESPN keeps showing the Zips crowd. Looks good. I don't recognize any ZN members yet...

Who is #34 for the Zips? I don't remember him. :P

I think USC is probably not a very good team but I did like the way the team played today.

USC was as advertised, young and sloppy. I agree with you though, the Zips had a built in excuse to lose. Instead, it looked like an energized team with something to prove. If they can play with a chip on their shoulder, they might continue to be fun to watch. How do we solve our continued offensive dry spells?

Well how about that!

We have a nice quality non conference win on the books fellas.

Hell of a response from a young team on the road. Proud Alum

Hopefully the young USC team gets better throughout the year and helps us when selection times begin (although based on the our soccer team's RPI the NCAA will do whatever they want ;-)

Good post. The Zips were organized, well conditioned, physical and hard working. They can win a lot of games with those characteristics.
