LZIp Posted July 4, 2015 Report Posted July 4, 2015 17k attendance I am taking the under. The Zips could be 1-0 and I would still be taking the under. Now if you said Pitt would bring 6000 fans then I would take the over. Remember #Teamohio will now be 2-0 and we know what Zip fans will be doing.Go ZipsSh....t on PittYou think we would draw under 17k even with a win over Oklahoma? Sheesh. Tough crowd. Quote
Dr Z Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 Source.• Pitt quarterback Chad Voytik got a firsthand look at how future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning operates.• The Biletnikoff Award, released its annual watch list Wednesday. Pitt’s Tyler Boyd was not on it.• Pitt running back James Conner was named to the watch list for the Doak Walker Award. Quote
Dr Z Posted July 21, 2015 Report Posted July 21, 2015 Getting beat by the Zips must not taste so bad.“That left a bad taste in my mouth, and I’m probably not ever going to lose that taste until we win the next bowl game,” Render said. That game isn’t the only one, either. Render said he also sometimes thinks about close fourth-quarter losses against Duke and North Carolina, as well. In fact, as Render walked through the lobby at Pinehurst Resort for the first day of the ACC Kickoff on Monday, he saw highlights from Duke’s double-overtime win at Heinz Field playing on the TV screens. “I had a hard time watching that still,” he said. So it’s no surprise that the biggest theme for Pitt this offseason has been to “finish.” Quote
skip-zip Posted July 21, 2015 Report Posted July 21, 2015 They didn't just fail to "finish" against us. They barely even got started. 1 Quote
Dr Z Posted July 21, 2015 Report Posted July 21, 2015 I just don't think there are that many Pitt fans that will travel. If you're a Pitt fan, are you excited to travel to a team that upset you at home last year, or are you scared of getting embarrassed again? Quote
ZippyRulz Posted July 22, 2015 Report Posted July 22, 2015 It's early season, it's not that far, and they know about the nice stadium. I think there will be a good number of them here. Quote
skip-zip Posted July 24, 2015 Report Posted July 24, 2015 40,000 of them showed up to watch Akron last year. I'd say that at least 5,000 of them will make a 2 hour trip for the same matchup. And we'll need every one of them if there's any hope of reaching 20k. Quote
LZIp Posted August 15, 2015 Report Posted August 15, 2015 Was looking on GoZips.com to potentially buy group tickets for the Pitt game and this is what shows up:http://gozips.com/gameday/fb/indexSo 3rd rate. Step it up UA. Also, if anybody could point me into a direction where I would get hooked up, it would be much appreciated. As an alumi and for a school who is coming off of the worst attendance in CFB, I feel I should be able to get a better deal than $27/piece (which is the current price on ticket master). I think I paid 10 or 15 for a GA ticket last season for the Marshall game.I did actually make an appearance:http://gozips.com/tickets/groups/indexThat picture is a good 6 years old. Quote

My #1 complaint about UA while I was a student, and now as an alumni (and directed at other alumni) is that no one gives a damn. Also, getting rid of 215 positions (of which the work is likely going to be shoved onto already overworked staff and faculty) is likely going to have even more of an effect of creating people who don't "give a damn". Goodluck Akron. This Alumni is getting tired of defending this nonsense. Quote

My company couldnt care less about me being overworked. They want the job done and there wasnt the budget to pay 4 mid-level managers. As for the overworked crew at UA....nobody is putting a gun to their head and making them stay. If they dont like their job or if they dont give a damn they can surely leave for greener pastures. We are stil "somewhat" free in this country. Quote

People Don't give a damn, because they're overworked and frankly don't have the time to. When your employees are overworked and don't have the time to care about minute details, you have links to buy group tickets to a season that happened 3 years ago. My contention is that they should care about they're employees being overworked and underpaid, because it ends up affecting the product. Quote

He's the "Dick LeBeau" of Pitt. Quote
skip-zip Posted August 17, 2015 Report Posted August 17, 2015 I have an enduring image of Coach Junko standing on our sidelines in that big, old Red Sweatshirt (so he could be seen easily), with his hands on his knees, watching every defensive play.I still wish he would have become our new head coach in 1994. Who knows how that might have changed things. Quote

K92 Posted August 27, 2015 Report Posted August 27, 2015 While the win at Pitt last year was a great feel good victory for the Zips, it was made possible, in part, by an absolutely awful offensive game plan by Paul Chryst. I doubt if Pat Narduzzi will make the same mistakes this year. Quote

They won't be sleepwalking into this one. Quote
